.... a Dealership or Independent shop creating a thread or threads sharing their client experience / interaction from their perspective? Similar to how owners create threads about their perspectives?

Some may consider it airing dirty laundry. Others could say unprofessional. While others may be interested in hearing actual examples of how shops are treated, which may in turn help each side better understand each other. Understanding would come from the open conversation that results from the shared experiences.

I do not think that client personal information should be shared. Rather keep it vague for example
"A Ferrari client" or "a Mercedes client " said or did the following.... and outline the situation.

    I 100% have a notebook of examples and stories from my almost 40 years in the industry. Chapters may be broken down by make " Volvo " - " BMW " - " Audi " - " Porsche " - " Mercedes " - " Independent Shop " or
    " Dealership life "

The title could be something like " What I couldn't tell you then... "

I won't be able to release it until I retire or am out of the business though... LOL

I love car dealership stories and I hope you lost them. But for an actual dealer/shop to do that only bad things would happen...

While I agree it could be enlightening and could promote understanding, I don't think posting live threads would be a good idea...

I tattoo people. Several years ago there was an Instagram page started by an anonymous artist in the industry called "How to Not Get Tattooed". The premise of the page was artists would send in screenshots of text dialogue with potential clients, reference pics clients sent, etc., relating to the sort of experiences you're talking about but as applied to the tattoo industry, all posted to the page anonymously and with personal details deleted. The page really caught on, as we all have these sorts of stories after years in the industry, and as it was a public page a lot of tattoo fans eventually followed it as well. As the page got bigger, people started to recognize themselves, their actual conversations, or their friends experiences as having been used as content, and predictably there was enough blowback and bad feelings to where the page shut down. Still a mystery as to who created and moderated the page.

That said, I'd love to read the memoir once you're out of the business, lol.

I am sure many would recognize their story being shared, at the same time, I also understand it could be seen as airing dirty laundry.

Its one of the tougher pills to swallow, seeing an unjust and unfairly presented version of a story and not being able to set the story straight...

I sit back and shake my head sometimes, knowing its sometimes better that the client moves on, to someone they feel more comfortable working with.

I have a bunch of doctors in the family. Real life medical stories does not work real well outside that circle. Things you and I would talk about are hard to have the correct perspective of outside our circle. Not a lot of good would come of it.

Nothing good can come out of it.

    Where are the negative ones?

    Are they all filtered out?

Are there negative ones that are 'Ok' that are posted (took too long, etc.) while
others that are really bad NOT posted (screwed me out of $3,000/never fixed the issues)?

Have you ever looked at 'reviews' on a website where a lot of them look the same?
Do you wonder if a company will post stuff themselves to make themselves look good?
Is there a competitor that will post BAD stuff on your page just to make you look bad?

While such a memoir would be fascinating to read, I suspect that even anonymized that someone would recognize themselves or an acquaintance in the book. Given the resource levels *some* of the folks are likely to have, this looks like a short path to a long time in a courtroom.

Kinda like this spider bit from LAST September.
They finally did a big, invasive surgery on it in mid-July, and it's finally healing.
But why didn't they do this in March or April? Or even February?
One former high-up told me they want people like me as a patient because I'm easy
money/recurring Dr visits, two a week at $1,300 each, on average, they love people
    with good insurance.
But how do I prove that?
I LIKE the Doctor and the Staff, but I question why this is being dragged out, but
as you said, I (we) are not Doctors, how do we know 'what to do' with regards to treatment/perspectives?

It's hard for me to go post on a Dr. eval website and say I got scrooed because I don't know if I was or not.

Hence why I'll wait until after I am retired, I'll have time to spend in the courtroom. ;-)
Then it becomes court record and even more interesting to those that could care.
(Note: I would only be sharing factually accurate stories with redacted supporting documentation )

I would love them and feel it’s a fun and good idea. There aren’t enough ACCURATE real world experience stories for all kinds of businesses.

Slightly off subject; What I would like to see dealers do is post the top ten parts or problems they sell/see for each model. It would give us owners an idea of problem areas to watch for and for preventative maintenance. Not for complaining to Ferrari for but just to help understand possible areas to pay attention to.

That's good feedback and something to consider.
I can tell you it's not DCT , PTU, or brake failures, like the forums would have you believe... it could be sticky trim though.
I'll gather some data and see what I can put together in a separate thread.
    Thank you for the idea,

    Steve

Not sure how well that would go over for Steve. Ferrari does not have problems. Owners have problems, dealers have problems but Ferrari? They dont have problems.

My words, not Steves. Besides I have reasons for Steve to be in really good with Ferrari.
