I know aftermarket rims are not everybody's choice but I want to increase my wheel size. With Compomotives not being made anymore my choices are somewhat limited. I know ROH wheels fit and the price for package with tires will be about $2K, which is a far cry from some others at triple that. The guys that build these for the US are located in LI, NY and they want me to bring my car out there to measure so they can modify to fit. They said every car is different from side to side and they want to make sure they are a good fit.

I think that if you want your 308 to look stock and are looking for the benefits of 16" wheels the question is "Why not go with the Superformance wheels?" $1,130 plus shipping. http://www.superformance.co.uk/308_a.htm

They look nice, I'd love to see them on the car. Those are their "Modena" product I believe. They have a black version as well that someone on this board is running (I think he's located in Australia). They also have a 3 piece version in 18" or 19". The one piece wheels are 20".

I too am considering aftermarkets, simply because the 16" factory rims are way too expensive to replace if you can even find them, and with NYC roads being in the shape they are I don't want to damage them. The only aftermarket wheels I have ever seen on a 308 that I like are the Compo TS 17s. I spoke to Compo a year ago and they were still available, I should have made a move then because now they no longer supply them.

I wish ROH had the Modena's in a 16" or 17". I don't think the car looks right with anything larger, but it is hard to tell from photos. I've never seen a 308 up close with anything other than stock wheels. But looks are subjective to everyone so don't let my opinion sway you. I do like the look of the 308 from Australia with the 20" black ROH Modenas.

Let us know how you progress with these, they are definitely a viable option.

    Thanks.

Thanks. I have the repros on the car but the prior owner bought the gold ones which I have tried to like but I can't. Also would have really liked to move to 17s but there just aren't any wheels available.

Here is a pick of the 3 piece Modenas on a 308. Mine would be the one piece Drifts which would be silver but look the same.

The gold looks nice against the blue - which in and of itself is gorgeous. You can always have the gold wheels painted.

That was the car I was referring to - I like the look with the black wheels.

I think it will look nice. I've seen a 348 with similar wheels and it looked great.

Well, judging by the responses here, I think you better try harder to like them! (I think it's a pretty sweet combo too)

    :)

Seriously, OTOH I would just as well paint them silver. I guess I'm just oldschool, but I have a hard time accepting aftermarket wheels on these cars...

Far too much space between the spokes ...looks kitcar replica to me I am afraid.

Gold or silver star pattern all the way for me.

Thank you. In Northern California Marin County there is a large concourse this weekend, which caters to cars from 1977 backward. Many vintage cars were driving by as the local ferrari club drive was preparing to depart. Quite an eyesight.

    Sashi,

The more I look at your beautiful car the more I like it, I love the gold but maybe just get those painted the sweet thing about those are they are aluminum and are very easily painted the code is F-101C for the correct silver, anyway dont take offense to my remark what i like about wheels is you can always put the correct ones back on easy!!!

I have to say after having a nice set of HRE wheels much like the compomotive I was so happy to go back to a set I did not have to spend 2 hours a wheel polishing every 6 months!!!!!

    Sincerely

    Rob
