Floor mats. Yes, many, many threads about this subject. Sorry, but I'm not sure about the correct course to take. So...Opinions?? First: I have a 1990 Mondial T. Roso Corsa over Tan, w/tan carpet and currently tan Ferrari mats that are falling apart and are dirty beyond belief. I'm thinking of replacing the carpets in a year or two with black carpet. I'm thinking about black mats as well. I think black mats w/tan carpet will also look good. I know Ricambi has good quality, reasonably priced specimens. About $85. No logo or horse. Looking on ebay there are are a bunch of expensive options with the horse, logo, or both. About $200+. I found these: Vel Floor Mat Set BL R for Ferrari Mondial 3 4 T Coupe | eBay They are black with red edges and the word "Mondial". About $120. See the picture. Anyone have experience with this vendor or the actual mats? What do you think? Thanks, DavidJ Image Unavailable, Please Login
Black carpets would look nice if done properly. If you get the black/red mats, your tan carpets will look weird against them. I would wait until you do the carpets first. As a temp fix, look for some tan ones or get custom ones from Fernando in LA where Hank got his or RicambiAmerica has some for ordering. Here are some pics of what your car could look like. My 88 has dark browns and matching mats, love them ! best Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I posted pics of my new set of mats in an earlier post. Look for "Recommended tan floormats" in the Mondial section.
I have exactly those... Here's my quote from the thread that Yelo T is talking about: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/404020-recommended-tan-floormats.html Update: They're nice out of the box but shed fibers quite easily with minimal traffic.
Well now, the perfect thread for showing off Rachel's mats (from Fernando). Hmmmm, after all this time - since they still look like new, I believe I'll have him sew in a really cool heel pad. Cheers, Hank Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd heard the cars did not come from the factory with mats, only the carpets that are installed. I threw out my worn out mats. I'm running just the base carpet that is installed. I'm very happy with that. My cars that get dirty or muddy get mats but the Ferrari doesn't get too bad. Not that I haven't climbed in with muddy shoes once. Darn winery.
Darn winery, indeed !! Reds - - - Whites - - - whatcha' got growing on them thare vines?? Cheers, Hank
I bought a set for my car from the vendor but they have the Mondial t logo on them. They matched my black carpet. The quality is pretty good. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lino, I never tyre of your interior, it's funny how it highlites the various attributes that normally are camouflaged in tan or black. Now where's a pic of my mats..
Beautiful grey interior - beautiful offsetting black carpets/mats/whatever !!!! What a stunning car !!! Cheers, Hank
Thanks everyone for the comments. Especially about the actual mats from ebay, thanks Wade. I think I'll pass on those. I agree that the black with red trim won't work against the tan carpet, Thanks Mike. Hank-those mats are first class, awesome. Lino-your interior is very special, custom from the factory or after-market? Searched the web a bit and came up with these photos. I think plain black over the tan works for me. I'll order a set from Ricambi. Hope to see many (if not all) of you at the Palooza, DavidJ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey David I think the black is a nice choice, I went with a high grade wool with an embroidered tan Horse in the center and opted for the rears as well. It makes the seats looks like they are floating apart from the tan. I'd like to go black carpet all the way but, in time maybe. See ya at Palooza Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like these in black with the shield. A bit more $$ but....can't stop now. DavidJ Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the compliments. I struggled to buy the car between another with the tan interior. When I looked at it closer I started liking it. The interior is stock, it's Grigio with black carpets. Also Dave wrote on one of my posts that the full leather dash was a factory option. I would agree with everyone about the black and red trim, it may clash with rest of the tan.
