The VIN decodes as a Euro spec car. Make sure all the EPA paperwork is accurate and complete.

Looks like a nice car from the pix. The instrument cluster looks "foggy". Maybe it is the ambient light, or camera?

looks really nice in the pictures. that's a high price, it should be near perfect with lots of records and recent service for that much.

I'll sign up for Carfax again and run the VIN, see what surprises await. I agree, the instrument cluster does look cloudy- any weirdness around the odometer area on car reportedly with low mileage makes my mental alarm start ringing.
If this is a Euro spec car, does that mean somebody (other than the factory) put that Calif emissions sticker on the windshield? Or did they all come with that?

That's an average price for an 85 QV with that mileage. It's not high at all. Oh and it a US car not a euro one.

Interesting that there are no engine pics and no text describing the car which might say when the last major was done.

That's exactly right. I'm not getting my hopes on this one- too much unsaid in the ad, and the photos are from last winter. If it were a great car with good records/maintenance, somebody would have bought it already.

So it has probably been sitting outside at the dealer lot, at least for 6 months. Good golly, I just happened to think of the test drives it may have been subjected to!!

The fourth digit is a "U", which decodes as a "308 GTB/S QV, Mondial, (Cabr), Euro Version". We know that it is a 308 GTS.

If it was a US car, the fourth digit would be an "A" for a 308.

At least that is what the VIN decoder says....

Something is awry because as Barchetta says, it looks US to me. US Bumpers, US Spoiler, US Sidemarker lights, etc. Why would someone ever change a Euro to US look? The primary gauges are definitely foggy.

Something smells here, and not like perfume if you know what I mean.

If that was correct then my own car would be a european model.... it isn't. I think you might want to take another look at your information because it's incorrect. U is a USA model 308. Check ferrarilifedotcom and do a search on vin decoder.

Car has been around for quite a while. Spoke with them 8-9 months ago about the car. No recent service, few records. Lots of cars at this price +/-. Proceed with caution methinks.

I agree. I do think though it might be worth going and taking a look at.

I didn't realize it was still there.
I didn't check it out but it did spend the winter out on their lot. Covered with snow at one point along with a white Testarossa.
Please be careful and good luck.

The thought of a 308 sitting out for a year.... that's kind of disturbing, isn't it?

I'll let you know what it looks like after that much exposure to the elements, and the hazards of a dealer's lot.

I don't have my hopes up for this one.

My apologies, guess you should not believe everthing that is published on the net. I used the decoded from the below listed link, which I found referenced on FChat.

I have to go back and take some remedial VIN decoder ring training.
