Somehow I think DC's life is pretty cool as it is. There are more benefits to being a F1 driver than "just" winning. :)

I'd rather be at Red Bull than McLaren simply because Newey is there. With a top line engine deal and a "clean sheet" car from Newey I fancy their prospects. They certainly don't lack for $$$$$$....

They certainly have a better future than Toyota/Honda who look absolutely clueless when one considers their massive budgets....

That's because they are: They keep replacing their team managers and drivers. Neither of which are the source of their problems.

Agreed, I had DC in mind as I wrote that. It is safe to say they have very different temperments (opposite?) and DC is exactly the type of guy who is content with what he has done and the odd result or two that still await.

Coming from Europe or the Americas might have something to do with it as well. Drivers from the western hemisphere are more inclined to view the series over here as a viable option, while over there I think it is more sports cars or DTM. (of course there are exceptions, but allow me to generalize :D)

I'd like to see him go........

I'm sure he has the talent to continue in F1 but, to me, that is not the point. He has made judgment errors in not one, but two current races and is jeopardizing the safety and lives of the people on the track. I like aggresiveness... don't get me wrong. But, skill is knowing the line between stupid and aggressive.

Well, there's always the safety car :) SOMEone's gotta drive it; might as well be a guy who's wanted to be at the front of the line for a long time...

What happens if he crashes the Safety Car? Do they bring out another SC?

Doubtful, one of his downfalls is his inability to tune a chassis very well. Hence his lackluster performance.

I never understood how the future of a guy like Montoya would be uncertain, but guys like Ralph and Jarno already have their 20-25 million a year contracts extended.

Have you seen this season ?

As McLaren fan i rather see Villneuve alongside Alonso rather than JPM. But my first choice will be Kimi ;)

I wonder the same thing. Take Montoya, who has the raw talent to be WDC, but no brains. Ralf could be a lot better far more often if only he wanted to win. Trulli...well he's just rubbish. I question why these 3 are in F1 at all.

It would be a circus to get Montoya and JV on the same team. Maybe JV needs a bus boy at his restaurant.

It should be JPM and Sato in Super aguries - they crash into each other in the pits - so we can have a good race to watch.

Yeah i know Montoya has screwed up a couple times this season. the fact is though, he is a very talented driver and is considered by many to be in the top 5 or 6 drivers on the field. I think the idea that he may not even have an F1 seat next year and even offer to drive for free is crazy if you consider guys like Ralph and Trulli( even though i like these guys) who screw up just as much as he does yet perform worse on the field have contract extensions announced half way through the season.
