I believe it stiffens the shocks, but does that really do anything?

is the car faster on a track if it's in sport mode?

or is it simply riding rougher and perhaps even slower than with the sport button off?

There are answers in the owners manual. In the dealer we referred to it as the top secret book in the glove box.

If read it would explain the sport mode stiffens the shocks, raises the intervention level of the ABS, and traction control. It also increases shift speed on F1 equipped cars.

I use it a few times on every drive. It's very subtle but the car does feel more planted when it is on and on a smooth road.

    I get all that,

I am not trying to a smart guy, does this actually result in any faster track time over a given section of road? .........the sport mode stiffens the shocks, raises the intervention level of the ABS, and traction control.......

is it possible it actually does nothing in terms of lap times, or time over a canyon section?

Probably depends on driver and track.

I generally drive w sport on… I only use comfort for really bad roads.
