With Heidfeld in the seat I have to wonder what information he will be allowed to go public with and what he may be allowed to relay to Mercedes GP, if anything.

Regardless, I hope to hear something about testing as tires for next season is quite possibly the biggest 'X' factor we will see.

Regardless of the tires Heidi will complain about lack of grip of the fronts...

Now that Quick Nick has been let out of his contract
with Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix, it may be more interesting
to hear what he says about the Schumacher situation.

With European press screaming for Schumacher's dismissal
and Heidfeld to step in, Schumacher's chances of finishing
out the season just increased greatly.

I didn't realize that Heidi left MB. So now that he is a "free agent" I take my comment back about the lack of grip on the fronts. :)

It is interesting to note, that he'll be doing these tests on a 2009 Toyota. That's pretty fair all things considered.

I expect the new Pirellis to have about the same or a tad less grip than the Bridgestones. I agree that they are the big X factor of next season (followed closely by KERS and some rule changes we don't even know about yet).

Interesting hypothesis. My guess is the Pirelli's will have good grip but will deteriorate very quickly making a bad situation worse.

As for quick Nick, I also didn't know MB was releasing him! I guess Pirelli needed to do everything possible to make sure he was hush hush regarding any results.

Dunno, maybe it was a requirement from a FIA perspective, otherwise Heidi's tests could be construed as practice days. Akin to all the hoops they made MS go through when he was "testing" for the Scuderia after Massa's accident (he had to use an old car with different tires).
