I own a new Vanquish S. I am not happy with the car.

What Ferrari should I be interested in buying?

If you like the front engined grand tourer characteristics of the Vanquish get a 550 or 575, or if you have the funds, the 2+2 F412 Scaglietti.

If you are ok with 2 seats and want a whole lot more exciting and involving driving experience, go rear engined 360 (long waits for F430).

If you are going to use it as a daily driver, I would go the front engined route.

Obviously purely subjective and budget dependant.

But shouldn't it be your decision in the end, work out what you are going to use it for and what suits your taste.....

    Why don't you like it?

Lots of Ferraris have different strong points. An F 40 may float your boat, or a 456. Two completely different cars, each for a different purpose. Maybe you should drive a few and see what you like.

Difficult to say from your short post as what's your preferences: front or mid engine, V8 or 12, daily-driving or not, recent model or classic, price range.

    The Vanquish S is...

    A V12
    Not a daily driver
    Combination of luxury and performance
    $300,000
    Very recent model

And finally...a car that I have owned that they can't fix. (Can't go into more detail for obvious reasons)

I am trying to eliminate in my next car that last characteristic.

PS. At one time I was Lovin it. Obviously, those days are gone but not changing my name until I decide on a new car.

Whichever model you get, buy a stick shift. That will eliminate most of the problems you would encounter with a modern Ferrari.

I think most here know what a Vanquish S is. The car has one issue and now you hate it but used to love it? Any car can have a serious problem, including your next new Ferrari. Don't you already know or have an idea of what kind of Ferrari or other car you would want to buy if you really insist on selling the Vanquish?

Why don't you tell us what it is that you are after? To me, a Vanquish is far closer to useable on a daily basis than alot of other exotic/so-called GT cars. It is a bit of a tank, though. And, if your complaint is that it is not comfortable enough for use as a daily, i'm a little lost- because it is very much a luxury machine.
Comparable Ferraris, like a 575 (long in the tooth) are not going to be a whole lot more practical if you find the Vanquish too difficult. Your other alternatives- the 8 cyl. cars- would not be my choice for a daily, although they bring beaucoup fun into the equation for weekend driving.

Are you for real? (Sorry if you are- but this seems like a borderline post; help me out here-why, if you are looking for something more practical would you even consider a Ferrari, as opposed to your garden variety AMG'd big Benz, a Bentley Continental GT or something else that is 'sporting' only in a figurative sense?)

I thonk you need to drive a few Farraris and see what floats your boat. But know that your next Ferrari could be just like your existing car. Sometimes a car has problems that will drive you insane and a while to work out. I had that with my 550 for the first eight months.
I can't imagine why your car is not a daily driver unless due to unreliability, which you will have with your Farrari also.

He is for real and I am sure he will come back and discuss what he is looking for and his issues with the Aston. From what he told me, it sounds like the new Imola might be what he would be looking for although I am not sure when it will debut and what kind of wait it will have.

If you must have a 575, try finding a GTC version, one of very few shipped this year towards the end of the 575 life. I have not driven one but
I am told by my dealer's principal that it is much more satisfying than the 575 especially if you like aggressive handling and braking included in your Grand Touring package.

I gather that you liked the Vanquish-S except that it was repair-prone.

I think you might broaden your search beyond Ferrari. Consider, for example, a Maserati Gransport or Quattroporte, as well as one of the new Bentleys. Both marques have the luxury you apparently like, as well as exclusivity & sportiness. If repairs are a concern for you, note also that new Maseratis come with a 4 year/50K miles factory warranty. Don't know about Bentleys.

I guess 575 would be the choice fitting your preferences.

I am sorry but obviously my timing was off. There are many legitimate questions that need to be answered but unfortunately I can not answer them at this time for obvious reasons.

I will be back to discuss the possibility of owning a Ferrari when I am in the position to answer the many valid questions. This is allow for a much more productive discussion.

    Many thanks for your input.
