what gear on dyno?

I use 5th gear as it's closest to 1:1 (1.03:1)

 

That's a LONG pull but the most accurate.

I dynoed my F355 in 3rd and 4th (recalibrating in between) and it picked up 8 RWHP in 4th, I wonder what it would put down in 5th?

That's probably because most cars are equipped with 5-speeds making 4th gear closer to 1:1 ratio. In a 6-speed (T-56 is an exception that comes to mind) 5th is closest to 1:1 ratio.
