agree 100% and I never protected BRADAN against that feedback. Very similar to Napolis I'm fine with you putting everything out there for all to see, but then you accept the risk on the feedback, not me!

It is easy for anyone under fire to dismiss any criticism as someone that just doesn't know. Pretty coward to just blame FerrariChat or be dismissive everytime under fire. More admirable and beneficial for the community to calmly and professional support your side while anyone truly not knowledgeable gets called out and kept from doing it again.

to learn something and also increase the ego of the Pros by allowing them to feel better by nitpicking your posts. :D

that would be great! easy and quick getting to the point. the problem with weeding out it takes too much time and inefficiently gets to the point or never, then everyone is lost.

As a shop owner, I've always thought Bradan was pretty brave to post here, and have their work held up to internet scrutiny. Can anyone imagine what it would be like if you volunteered photos of what you did all day, and watched others pick it apart? I think the comment about surviving trial by fire is apt.

When I started my motorcycle shop, over 10 years ago, I spent a lot of time posting on motorcycle forums (which I also sponsored) to promote my shop. After a couple years, we were so busy in the shop, there just wasn't time to post anymore.

That's the same type of message I sensed from Bradan's post here.

Picked apart by someone with knowledge, I'm fine with. Picked apart by someone who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about, but may sound knowledgeable on the internet to the less mechanically inclined is what would worry me if I was a shop owner posting here and cause me as a DIYer to pause before posting something that I THOUGHT might help other DIYers.

Do you even own a website, bro??? :D

I was actually called a "troll" on this website after posting comments on Bradans service. Although I don't own a Ferrari, I did drive one after it was serviced by them. Yet many Ferrari owners felt I shouldn't comment on the drivability of a Ferrari that I just had extensively driven shortly after a major service was completed on the car.

see how mixed up this is. everyone thinks they are on the righteous side, but it is more a web of perspective with added thorn of one-dimensional communication.

I didn't see your post in that thread. So I can't comment. I can say that it has been known to happen here that someone who spouts all kinds of tech information has at times turned out to have never owned said model. Talkin' ain't doin', and unless you've lived with a model day in and day out, there comes a point where you're just regurgitating what others have said who may or may not have a clue. I can also tell you that wrenching on Ford's your whole life doesn't mean you are an expert on a Ferrari. A friend who worked with me on my car extensively has torn down and rebuilt many a Chevy and Ford and he was constantly saying, "What the hell?" when working on my car.

A prime example is a recent thread where a long time 308 QV owner made the statement that there really isn't that much difference between the two-valve and four-valve injected 308 and anyone who says different is full of it. Now I know this person has never owned a two-valve car. Maybe he's driven one that belonged to someone else. I have personally met and talked extensively with people who have have owned both cars and they universally say the same thing: the two valve was an absolute dog. So now you've got a potential buyer thinking there's no difference based on what? Someone on the internet who may just happen to have a poorly running QV comparing it to a tip-top running two-valve.

There are exceptions to every rule, of course.
