A friend wants to get a Ferrari and had some problem fitting into my 79 308 GTS. What has more headroom GTS or GTB? Is there any more room in a 328? This guy is 6'3" or 6'4". What Ferrari would best provide sufficient room?

A GT4 with an open sunroof?

Seriously, the guy I bought mine from was around 6'2", and had a Momo Cup VTR seat installed. It lowered him a couple of inches and he had no headroom problems.

Doc, of all the cars from the eighties on, the 360 has the most headroom, with 550 next. I have owned many and am tall, so this is fact not guess work.

i had trouble ( 6 ft tall) with head room in the 328 gts and found it difficult to lower the seats with any real gain.

so i purchased a carbon fibre targa roof (and spoiler) from maranello auto sales in america.

the actual products came from Japan and i think cost about USA$2700.

i gained about 25 mm or one inch and this basically solved the problem.

    the web site is maranelloauto.com.

mind you anyone who is in excess of 6 ft will have trouble with most exotic cars?

    regards tony

    I am 6'6", have a 1999 550 and easily lowered the seat 1" without
affecting the power seat controls. I gave up on any earlier models.

6'4 , 245 stock seat 77 308 GTB with seat back tilted to max and I have about 2" head room. I usually sit in a slouch position with arms outstretched and it works fine. I did put a 2" steering wheel extension on and tilted the wheel up a hair. Works good.

I'm also 6'4, but people differ in proportions -- much of my 6'4 is legs (no fun on air liners).

I also had trouble fitting in a 308, which is one of the reasons I opted for a 328: a half inch more headroom. (There were a couple more reasons too, of course.)

But I've noticed that, while the 328 seemed a tight fit at first, I find it comfortable now. I also found, during the compact rental craze/days, that rental cars are also uncomfortable on first introduction, but seem better with more familiarity.

With today's huge-mobiles, the contrast has to seem even worse, for most people. (I noticed that my '03 EVO is actually taller than a '70s Sedan de Ville. Sheesh.)

So first impressions can be mis-leading. A little familiarity can go a long way towards comfort in tight quarters.

But I do have to stow the fiberglass top "backwards" (top aft), to let the seat recline enough to minimize mirror adjustment (top on/off) and to keep my forehead from hovering about an inch from the windscreen frame.

The seating position is more comfortable with the top out from behind the seats, but there's no place else for it except on the car.

There's got to be a folding top available for these things.
(Yes, I know. I've got to set up a "buffer" bank account some day, so I can get on ebay. Maybe when "free" checking isn't "fee" checking at most banks.)

I know I have a hard time fitting in 308s and 328s. I am 6'1. You will probably find that 355s have more room. Unfourtunately they are much more money to buy and maintain.

Depends on whether you are more upper body or legs.
I'm only 6 foot, but it's a tight fit for me in the GTB.
Remember with the GTS you can always take to top off.
