Sorry for one more same story, same drive, same pictures, etc...but today: to the vet, again. High-speed ambulance for the cats... Perhaps I could have the GTB officially registered as an ambulance, with some sort of speed-limit waiver? Rgds Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well today I managed to kill a pheasant, bend the radiator grille and lose my license plate all at the same time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
17yrs of occasional frustration fixed! Occasionally I would get the dreaded starter motor click and no engine turning, in fact the car was like this when I bought it. Previous owner had obviously had the same problem, as starter motor had been out several times. Yesterday it went phut and no amount of patience would coax it into life - result, a bump start in a supermarket car park and very pi**** off wife. So I went about the wiring and found a crimp in the wiring connector that is located in the footwell, that appears to have never been crimped. This is the white wire that feeds the starter motor solenoid. Happy days Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dyed the seats and door panels and added snaps to the floor mats so they wouldn't slide arount. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Barry, what products did you use for the seats and door panels? Do you have any before / after photos? What year is your 308? California mirror? Looks great!

Products Lacquer thinner for removing old finish (I think it was original). Aleene's Leather and Suede glue for tears. Blue jean patch material for backing for tears. Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil to soften old leather (after removing finish with lacquer thinner. Edechse 02 beige for filling. Leatherique Pristine cleaner after Rejuvenator Oil 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to clean prior to dying. Autoleatherdye.com RFR24 for beige and Autoleatherdye.com RFR21 for black stripes. Really excellent articles on doing seats. Verell http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/134850.html Mike Charness http://www.leatherique.com/do_it_your_self_instruction/ferrari-re-dye-by-mike-char.html They both used leatherique dye but I couldn't get ahold of anyone back there so went with Autoleatherdye. Finished. Came out pretty good. Took a while. I did the door panels first to get practice then driver's seat and finished passenger seat today. I didn't use the Rejunivator oil to the extent Verell and Mike did. Two heavy treatments over 24 hours. I honestly couldn't tell much difference. Used a gal of lacquer thinner. Started with green scotch brite but ended up using paper towel soaked in thinner as it worked better for me. Patching is a pain, al least with the stuff I used. Filled small cracks by smearing with finger which worked great but tears were something else. 4 coats of dye on door panels (more than I needed) and three on the rest. Applied all solutions except thinner with Autoleatherdye supplied sponges. Used about 20oz of dye In picture below I haven't done the black stripes yet so some bleeding on edges. After doing black using small brush and straight edge it looks OK. Also getting head rests out was a real PITA. Had to remove rear seat panel. There are threads on removing head rests. It looks incredible. I'll get some Leatherique products and do some cleaning/dying. I have only a small driver-side bolster to fix up but with the correct products, I should be back in business. Thank you very much for posting your pictures. Any suggestion for dying carpet? Mine is a little faded in areas.
Kent While I haven't tried it Autoleatherdye.com has a new (I think) line carpet dyes. They have a pretty good chart for Ferrari interior colors. The black I used for the seat stripes is Ferrari black RFR21. Mine doesn't need it but if I were to dye the carpet I probably would use them. A word of caution: Autolether's dye comes in 16 or 8 oz containers. I did both door panels and dirver's seat with the 1st 18 oz of dye but felt I wouldn't have enough left to doe the passenger seat so I ordered another 8oz. Before starting I mixed the "new" 8oz with the "old" 16 oz. and forged ahead. The result is a color ever so slightly darker than the rest. (If you weren't looking for it you wouldn't see it but I know it's there). It may be that after a couple of weeks (time between seats) it will be identical but I don't know. So if I were to do it again I would be sure I had enough dye and if its in multiple containers mix them together before starting. Good Luck Barry
Took the entire stalk and cleaned all the contacts for all three levers and one contact point in the back for the high beam flash. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
