Ken I see you are in Upland. We are in Chatsworth which made for a long drive on Sunday, about 200 miles, but it was worth every foot. We caravanned with Riley in the rain to the initial meeting point in Tustin. Turned out to be a beautiful day with I believe 15 308s and 1 328. Yes, Upland. I see you have removed your wipers. I was thinking of doing the same. But what to put over the wiper control pegs? Something that looks factory and can easily be removed so I can put my wipers back on should it rain.
Yep. I had to put them on last Sunday for the Dana point run. Probably the first time in 25 years. (car sat from 94 till 2020). Since the wipers are original 78 you can imagine how they worked. Never found any type cover for wiper pegs.
I am going to take mine off in the near future and I'm sure I'll come up with something to cover them to make them look factory. I will keep you posted. What color is your car technically called? I don't see many of them. It looks great.
Started stripping cam covers. Going back to bare aluminum. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My clutch was releasing way at the top of travel, like an "ON" / "OFF" switch. So, I followed the guidance on the Birdman Service Procedure to adjust for the 2-3 mm throwout bearing clearance and now I have the 15 - 20mm clutch pedal play until the throwout bearing presses on the pressure plate. All is good. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It’s a bit embarrassing, but a leak from the transfer case has developed. I admit that I didn’t replace the copper washers during a recent oil change…shame…I’ll change to the seemingly accepted here Red Line MTL. I removed all four wheels for a quick cleaning. I drank a beer…ok two.
I wouldn't be embarrassed. You're doing it yourself. Hats off to you. Your project is above my pay-grade.

Replacing the running light lens. Follows another Fchat suggestion of heating to 275 F for 15 minutes and the lens came out easy!
With the old cloudy lenses, soak them in hydrogen peroxide. You will have to empty about 3-4 bottles depending upon the tray/dish you soak them in. Also, soak them in direct sunlight all day. This also works for plastic parts that were once white and have turned yellowish off-white.
Grrrrrrr. PSA don’t use excessive gasket sealer everywhere on cam cover gaskets unless you want the next guy to spend 10 hours scraping and cleaning. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Two days belated. 1. Changed gearbox/oil to Red Line MTL. That oil is gold. Smooth. 2. I’ve burnt two fuel pump fuses in less than a week. Carrying spares kept me going; a year ago, I would’ve been stranded. I’m not trained nor am I anywhere near the likes of a Steve Magnussen, Brian Crall or Tom Yang. I’m just learning as I go. 3. A cleaning of battery terminals and/or adjustment of the cables seemed to fix the problem. Whether I’m correct, I really have no clue, but I haven’t had a problem since. 4. Some OCD torquing of the drain plugs and pan nuts has helped with leaking, but I’m still seeing a leak out of the passenger side engine mount spacer; removal of those studs and resealing those threads will be next. Again, I’m learning as I go. 5. I cleaned the wheel wells, again, and I inspected belts. 6. I went to a car show on Sunday, but I turned around immediately once I saw parking. The OCD in me just couldn’t let her sit and bake in the direct sunlight. Strange. Probably. 4.45 a.m. post. Hope I made some semblance of sense. Off to work I go.
Cam covers cleaned up and finished scraping gasket sealer from the head surfaces. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

SMS: Wondering about the air box. Are you using some kind of power adder like turbo or supercharger? If so is there a thread? Thanks
Barry, Yes, its a supercharger application. Using a Powerdyne centrifugal unit making 6 psi boost, so its relatively conservative but makes it pretty fast. Has forged pistons, ss valves, balanced and has reground cams. Using member Mk e's desktop dyno we figure it to be making around 350-360hp. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Last month I replaced the original Koni's and springs with a QA1 setup, this weekend I installed freshly rebuilt rear calipers and rubber brake lines. Next, will replace the front brake lines. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
