When doing mine, I found the use of a 2" long 1/2" drive extension allowed me just the right amount of reach to loosen/tighten the socket head bolts. For the hex bit, I was using a 1/2" drive impact bit which is about 3" long.

Or put another way, to enable using my breaker bar/ratchet/torque wrench placed between the inner part of the control arm and the outer part of the chassis rail (for the inner bolts), I inserted my hex bit into one of the socket heads then measured for the required extension to make it work. Then Amazon is your friend.

thanks for the helpful tips, my shoulder is totally knackered, awaiting surgery so will try my best, may have to borrow an impact gun off a friend if it can get in with limited space on the outer wheel side. With a long extension the inner CV section will be the easiest ,Cheers

Hillbilly hockey stick cam lockers worked well. New belts, tensioners and all new rubber that touches gasoline. 4 rebuilt Webers AND I finally fixed the distributor oil leaks. Now it is time to change coolant and tune the carbs for a good idle. Looking forward to cool weather driving.

Got mine back yesterday after months in the shop. 30 degrees this morning and took it out for breakfast. Hopefully it will warm up a little and I can drive it with the top off soon.

Took it out for some exercise but quickly discovered brine had been sprayed on the roads. Snow is anticipated. Returned home.

I did it by myself, only a couple of hours work and two cycles of drying overnight. Sorry no before-picture. It looked worn with brighter areas but not that bad.

Mostly I used the items of this package plus fluid leather for deeper scratches and straightening of the frayed areas towards the aluminum. They have lots of videos and howtos on their site, unfortunately only in German. But I guess there are similar suppliers elsewhere, too.

Had the alternator rebuilt after gen light started coming on. Actually it was under warranty as I had it rebuilt last Apr. Turned out to a bit of a frustration as the rebuilt unit wouldn't charge. Took it back and they messed with it and said it's A ok. I witnessed them test it a 14+ volts and 65 + amps. Soooooo I reinstalled it and still no charging. Off again and checked it on the bench using a 2500 rpm impact driver to turn it. Checked out fine. Reinstalled it decided it must be the ignitor circuit. Ran 12 volts to the ignitor post and it charged. Let it run a while, the battery was at 11.6 volts by now, then hooked up the stock ignitor circuit and it works fine. I have no idea why. Along the way I built a tool out of a turnbuckle to tighten the alt belt. and Installed new rubber molding on the wheel wells. Next on the agenda is the speedo sending unit. It's been sketchy for a while but now only works once in a while. Oh yeah I also replaced a couple of stripped wheel well fastners.

I had the same issue with my alternator. There's a cable that runs from the alternator to the starter. The connection to the starter failed. I just had to replace the copper eyelet connector at the starter terminal. I'm now getting the proper voltage to the battery.

The cables were OK. At least I didn't change either one. The Gen light wire goes to the D+ post on the alt and is supposed to excite it so it will charge. Its kind of a strange setup as when you ground the D+ wire the Gen light comes on and when its hooked up to the alt the gen light comes on when the key is in run. So all is as its supposed to be except it didn't charge. Don't know why it started working OK.

I found it annoying to always have to look for the seat belt buckle once I was in the car. Solved by placing a button made for this purpose on and through the belt. Small job of less than 1 minute per belt

Hey mate, I'm glad I've come across this post. I've been trying to get just a quote from Nick for the last 3 months and still nothing. I purchased my 360 with a red wrap. Removed the wrap and had paint damage. I will give Dave a try.
