Hi all, I did yesterday assess the 'damage' of my long run with younger Fs. Nothing 'big' though, the heater lever sunk into central console I managed to recover it and take some photos. I think there was a previous fix attempt which of course has not last very long. Also you will notice the fan switch is not standard, I pretend fixing that too. I will search for 'Levers threads' afterwards, any thought in advance on how to approach this repair and where to find best quality spares will be very much appreciated. I did nothing but submit a govt form, but today it came back & my 308 was declared an historic vehicle. What does that mean in the UK? No road tax, no annual MoT, I can go and pollute central London without being charged or banned by the emissions zones. And I can put elegant black & silver license plates on the car. Happy days
timing belt weeks. I did both the 328 ( 8 hr job) and the dry sump. (6 hr job) Next weekend the QV gets a new set. All good for another 5 years.
I think you will not require to pay road Tax on your car now, but still have to apply for it. Or at least I think so.if your vehicle is as below Historic vehicles Vehicles made before 1 January 1979 are exempt from 1 April 2019.
I took the train to just outside Salzburg today to pick up mine after it’s 6 month winter hibernation. (May 1st can never come quick enough..) The 328 sits in a great spacious, heated garage with other Ferrari’s, Porsche’s and the like. Trickle charger off.. Started up instantly. tire pressure down. Warmed it up....and enjoyed a great drive back home.. So nice to get her home again. Now, just 15 days and I bring home my new V12 buddy for the 328... Nice photos indeed Just one advise to all, when making photos of places you keep your cars please make sure you dont have activated the location services or location stamp of photos in your mobile phones Otherwise the bad guys will know where your cars are just taking look to photo's properties All the best Julio
Received the repaired stalk back from Unobtainium last week and did some reassembly last night on my coffee table. I'll finish the install in the car this weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Julio Fixing this is not difficult at all. First.. that center console is relatively easy to remove and work on. One screw under the ashtray and it slides out forwards. From there you can turn it over to disconnect the levers from the bezels and replace all the bezels. New bezels for the sliders are available from Verell at Unobtanium Supply. They are metal where the Ferrari ones are brittle plastic. He also has unscratchable labels that look great. I fitted his bezels and labels 5 years ago and they still look brand new... Six years ago, I had my "Holy crap!" moment. I am still basking in the afterglow. And the best is yet to come. The 3x8 series are beloved cars. My 308 has been a remarkable (figurative) vehicle for friendship and adventure. Yours will too. Welcome to the club Rod! You have joined a unique group.

I think 550 is the best choice ( V12 / investment etc.. ) if you want add a second car with a 328. Hope I can do it in future
I hope I can add a 365 GTB/4 Daytona to my 308 GTB in the future. Hope springs eternal Best from Germany Martin
