Here's a sample of my work. I am a private builder and work primarily in 1/43 scale. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
based on a feeling 43? I had a feeling 43 kit, but quickly realised I didn't have the skills to build it the way it should be. I exchanged it for another handbuilt modell. RESPECT. you are in a special league of builders!
Yes...it depicts the car as it ran at Watkins Glen in 1990. It placed 2nd with Haywood at the wheel. I prefer to pick a specific race when I have enough reference. That's not always the case. I am currently in the planning stages of a limited run of models that involves Ferrari's first win at LeMans. It will be a signature piece [that's all I can say for now] and limited to 15 models. It will be a diorama of sorts having some figures included by a well known figure artist.
Do you do "one-off" builds for others? I am a decent builder, but have only enough time to do about 5-6 cars a year...
I am north of Tampa. I do not have a shop...I do have a workshop. I only build on commision. Many have tried to survive but I am one of only a few, especially in the US that has. It is only possible if one keeps overhead way down. That's why I do not retail my work. I do have a select few that I work with that are retail on-line shops.
Looking at your work, I'd say that keeping overhead down is not the only reason for your success. Your building style is very clean. Your F40 is detailed and in scale. Far too many try to cram in details that appear out of scale, ending up with models that look toy-like. Nice work. Wanna show off any more? I'll bet others would like to see more of your work, too.
Here are some more Ferrari subjects. I appreciate the observation. I agree that some try to cramb in details as a "wow" factor. It does attract attention however Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
again, amazing pieces. I am not much of a builder myself (I am a humble collector) but by the looks of it, this is of very high quality. I suppose you are already familiar with Mike of Miniwerks (a sponsor of Fchat if I am not mistaken) but if not, please introduce yourself on his forum at www.miniwerks,com
Hello Peter W, Be careful about advertising for work here on F-Chat, even in a subtle way. They require you to be sponsor and the guys that do sponsor on here will get upset. Ed Cervo
I'm not advertising. I joined recently because I'm interested in purchasing a 308. I discovered this forum in the process and wanted to show my most recent work. I avoided soliciting any work and I do not retail anything. I am a private builder. In hindsite I decided to read the rules [Do you read instructions???] and came across this: "or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion)." I guess this applies to me. So I will keep my work off the forums. Thanks for the heads up Ed.
