For all of the Ferrari freaks out there, how do you think your life and the world would be different today if Ferrari had never produced cars? What marque do you think would receive the bulk of your enthusiasm?

    Just a few random hypotheticals:
-No Lamborghini either, isn't the legend that the tractor magnate was put off by Enzo's attitude toward customers and wanted to show him up?

-Maserati would be the brand from Italy. All of Ferrari's popularity and history of winning would have been placed on the trident rather than the cavallino.

-Porsche, Maserati, and Lotus would be the premier sports car brands in the world.

-No Ford GT40, and hence, no Ford GT.

-Nobody would know what a 30k service, F1 transmission, or Dino was.

-No Ferrarichat. AlfaRomeochat just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Add yours, and have some fun.

It's a horrific thought... but I guess I would find myself owning two Aston Martins.... one in the driveway and the other at the repair shop, swapping out the other until each one breaks. Or an Esprit.

Alfa, Maserati and OSCA, and Bizzarini would be the Vintage brand of choice. Well I guess they are anyway!
As for modern cars, who cares.

Maserati or Lancia all the way. When Lancia bailed from F1, if there was no Ferrari, would Maserati have rebadged the Lancia D50 and made it a world champion like Ferrari did? While Ferrari has been the absolute benchmark of ALL exotics since the 60s, before then, Maserati and Lancia ruled.

No Ferrari, huh? Why don't you just kick me in the nuts while you're at it! :)

Seriously, though. I know I'd have a Porsche 928. They're way cool in my book.

There would be no Magnum PI. Miami Vice would be totally different and Don Johnson would not have married Melanie Griffith the first time. Tom Cruise in RainMan would have been a time-share salesman. The Pope might not be Italian. (oops).

If there was no Ferrari things would be depressing.

No other car company could ever take its place. I would be more than happy driving around in, or lusting after a Porsche though if Ferrari never existed.

I've already spent a small fortune in merchandise and apparel, so I can't imagine how much time and money I'll put into the actual car when my time comes to buy.

If Ferrari never existed I'd probably have more money but a boring life.

I suppose I would have my energy devoted to a motorcycle brand (but not sure which one). One of the main attraction for Ferrari is the allure of fine machinery that can be appreciated (by some) in the form of two wheel mobility. While Ferrari's are more practical than motorcycles, I like the fairly raw aspect of the cars. If I had to select a car brand for my automotive attention, I would go with Porsche.
