    There have been a lot of discussions on how to become a good customer to get on the list at your local dealer. What happens if a really good customer of Dealer A moves into Dealer B's region? Does the customer have to start over at square one, or does this scenario happen often enough that the customer will be considered a good customer at the new place because of some unwritten reciprocity agreement?

    The time and money spent "building a relationship" is probably better utilized paying the current market price for whatever it is that you're looking for. Unless the relationship is built upon something other than being a willing participant in one or more "bad" deals, I don't think that it's worth pursuing.
