Catch is it has a salvage title. The car is very nice however and only has 8500 miles. No service history present. I would love to have all of you input on what you think is a fair price to pay....

Need more details to give an answer. Options, spider vs coupe? Why the salvage titile?

Salvage title and no service records would probably scare me away. A thorough PPI with a very low price may ease my mind though.

Way too many variables and impossible to give a number without seeing the car and reviewing all records - assuming they have them which could be an issue.

    50k to 90k

You can find one fairly cheap so why buy a salvage car, unless is going to be turned into a track car...

Why bother with a wrecked/repaired car? Sure, you'll pay less, but it's going to be nearly impossible to sell, and probably going to have more needs over the course of ownership. The only scenario IMO in which this would be awesome is if you're going to make it a track rat.

It's probably worth $50-60k, and you can get a NICE one with no stories for $85-95k.

I'd be inclined to think $50k to $70k myself depending on condition and mechanism of wreck if bent frame, etc. After all aren't all salvage titles given just because of a "few scratches on the bumper"? ;-)

    We aren't mind readers.

Details matter. Color, interior, service history, accident damage, books, tools, keys, options, current functional status, and how well it was repaired, and so on make a huge difference. For example, if were totaled from flood damage, I would run as fast as you can.

I'm with the others in saying it's best just to find a good one and pay a little more. At least it will be easier to resell when you want to get rid of it.

Buying in selling is just like "garbage in -- garbage out". What you save on the front side will end up costing you on the back side.

i never understand how salvage cars sell for as much as they do. any salvaged 360 (even if it drove well) I wouldn't want even for 45k. 30k ok I would buy one with the intent of using the crap out of it.

Why pay 65k for a salvaged 2004 when you can find a 00-01 clean titled car for 70k.

Agreed...if you're buying salvage it's got to be cheap enough that you don't care.
