I'm interested in a 10k mile, one owner, red TR that had a recent belt service done.
What's the approx. value of such car assuming that it doesn't need any attention and is in "like new" condition?

It's worth what you are willing to pay.

Boy this is scary territory. The value of TRs depends on who's doing the talking. Some folks say that they can buy numerous TRs at $35k or less all day long. This may be true for TRs at an auction, with questionable miles, unknown history, former druglord cars needing an engine-out service. But really nice TRs will NOT be bought in this range. If the TR is a U.S. version or a Euro will have some effect on price with the Euro version being a bit cheaper. Also the center-bolt wheels of early TRs are looked at as a negative but I find them much better looking than the later 5-lug wheels, so it's really how you "feel" about them. If it has the old TRX tires then I must say that IS a negative. Well I could go on and on about TRs as I love 'em, live 'em and breath 'em.....but enough of that! I will go out on a limb and give you my opinion. I've noticed that early single-mirror cars seem to have quite a following......I'd say an extremely nice car like you describe should be around $57k to $65k.

If it were a 5 bolt wheel, in PERFECT condtion, all records, etc, and the color you want, I would be willing to pay 65-70k for it.

To me a TR with known history and less than 30k miles is worth 50-55 if it's a pre-89 car. 55 if it's post-89 and less than 20k. Anything other than the above, 40-50. Too many of them and they have the TR and FM to contend with above them.

The price is listed as $56900...which seems fair especially considering the recent engine out service... The car has new Michelin tires...

What's the big difference with pre and post 89?
Testarossas looked almost the same and had close to the same power during all the years.. Is there any specific reason why post 89 are so much more desirable?

The question is where I can get TR's for that kind of price?
I'm checking on a regular basis several sites that have exotics for sale, and I can't find those prices...

What did they change to the A/C system? Have there been problems with pre 88.5's?? They are all R12 systems - right?
I wonder if they can be upgraded to R134.. R12 is hard to get these days...

    Just found another TR...

It's a '91 TR with 31k miles...and the car has documentation and was maintained well (with all the receipts). Belt service was done in '04.
I could pick it up for $55k.. That sounds like a good deal..
