I'm thinking of classic Ferrari ownership, what would you all get that is available in Australia. I like 246 Dino & also partial to 330's, what advice from some of you classic owners of the plus & minus for the various cars & models available here. Can't have what I would really want....any 250 or 275, so after some opinions & ideas.
Peter What about a GTE? Any front V12 with carbs? 250PF? 330GT? C4? All are quick enough with all the tax cameras about.
The blue one here is pretty quick and the dark green one from SA is not too shabby either. Also the dark blue Queen in Vic and the light silver/blue one in SA are pretty damn quick as well.
Thanks John, the C4 is not my most fav looking, I like the the PF Cab & 330GT or 2+2 even, the GTE has never really been one on my radar, that said you have got me thinking, it is also a 2+2 & that could suit occasionally with my younger kids . I think in reality I have always been drawn more to the ones that are just too expensive, but now when considering ownership, I need to look more realistically, thanks for your opinion.
Theres a 250 testarossa at berlinta bodyworks on parramatta rd at haberfield across the rd from rick damiliean prestige
They want $1 when I was talking to them. It is a cut up 330GT from memory. I have photos of the Vin plate. And Peter it's funny what you say about C4s. I was never a big fan of the looks but it was the best carby front V12 that I could afford. Since I have had it maybe 6 or more years the looks have really grown on me. And they are a very versatile car. Can stick with the Daytonas and even push them on the twisty stuff, yet are super easy to drive and are OK in 40+C temps and city traffic. In a few years when the radiologist gets his on the road you should go for a drive. If you are in Melb give me a call and we can go for a drive in mine.
Get a 246, I think it will suit your driving style, easy to sell if it's not your cup of tea 330 I drove was like driving my dads old Bedford truck
My car has never ever broken down. However I did see a red 355CH broken down on the side of the road last year in Sydney.
