Why the F did they do this? It seems like such an elementary oversight. Surely they know they don't match, so why do it?

By the way, I liked your post for the information you provided; but I vehemently dislike the provided information!

Before being pushed out of the deal by those guys, I was supposed to be brokering this car for the family. Lots of long discussions with the daughter, who's father bought this and specced it as so from new...I did buy his 550M though, which was Rubino with a completely crema interior.

The dude had taste though...an original Cobra, and this

All I can say is it puzzles me to no end. In my former life, we would spend months and longer making sure that paint colors matched and everything was in harmony.
Ferrari Design probably is aware of the mismatch, but not sure why it's never been addressed. The shield, emblem and center caps along with the brake color should have been better matched. But tradition is probably preventing them from changing the emblem background color ( the color of Modena) along with the center cap color. Matching the body color of course is not an option as there are a multitude of yellows in the pallet.
But I'm surmising the colors are what they are, and no one wants to change them.

Your assumption is probably spot on.

I am most likely as OCD as you are, or in any case, OCD enough that this also bothers me. I would need to get them all painted the same shade of yellow, but then that would bother me that they are no longer OEM, so even that would be out of the question. I feel like you've ruined my day for some reason, even though I already knew this to be the case. Thank you, John.

There at least 3 generations of modern style Ferrari center caps with more orange than yellow the newer it is. I’m guessing Ferrari produced these in large batches, but they eventually run out and another batch needs to be made. My guess is it’s hard to recreate the previous yellow 100%.

I’ve had all 3 in my possession at the same time to compare.

Yes, agreed, just that one more color would have crossed the threshold for good taste :)

This thread is making a very strong case for Rosso Corsa paint and Traditional Beige interior.

Actually other than these abominations, the red/tan IS the worst spec [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Looking at Ferraris for sale I feel like there are far more questionable specs than I would have thought. Do dealers try to nudge people when they are speccing the cars?

There was definitely no dealer nudging for the orange, yellow and two tone blue one I posted [emoji23][emoji23]

I've saved this as it is by far the most accurate & one the best posts on Fchat. Wish it were mine:

"So many F cars appear to have specced out by a stripper or someone with severe mental disease"
    moorfan 07/10/20

So many abominations. What's worse is that they keep on outdoing themselves.

It is bad enough the pro athlete/stripper/oligarch, color blind & mismatched faux pas but if one also takes into consideration all of the interior accent colors that should have been edited out, I venture to say more often than not, the post OTO cars really make me think "pity....what a shame...."

Oh well, clearly "money can't buy one taste."

I agree with this 100% but Porsche is IMO much, much worse.

The whole "paint to sample" crowd comes up with some of the most hideous spec abominations I've ever seen. I guess we can thank the nouveau riche trust fund babies who's sense of style is to wear garish, multi colored clothing matched with some overpriced crayola vomit sneaker for these travesties of taste.
