    Different shops do different things. You should ask the shop in advance and ask them to be specific. There is no officially defined major service. I know an individual who got a good price quote from a dealer and their major consisted of fluid changes. By the time the job was done it cost him about 3 times as much because they line itemed EVERYTHING for an additional charge.
