One of my other cars only has 2 6.5 inch speakers in the doors and the sound is decent.. in fact it's really not bad at all.

The 348 with the same 6.5's and tweeters in the L and R a/c vents sounds like absolute poop. What gives. Could it be the depth of the door??? My syereo sounded so bad I went and bought new high end speakers thinking the ones in it must be torn or rotted out. They turned out to be Focus speakers. A decent high end speaker from a few years back. They were fine and actually sounded ok when you put your ear down close to them. I guess its just the accoustics of the interior..........

I replaced my system about two weeks ago with a Bluetooth Sony system that streams from my Laptop. Its perfect. Replace all four speakers too!

It sounds really good now! but to be honest. I dont use it hardly that much.

The music is behind your head, that's why the stereo is an afterthought.

I don't know, but the Lexus SC430 has an astounding audio system, and I wouldn't want anyone to see me driving one. I would guess speaker placement (not pointing right at your knee) and general noise level in the car have a lot to do with it. Speaker placement is a science, and I'd guess Ferrari bumped it way down the list when designing the 348.

Here's the simplified audio system in my 328. Note how the controls are designed to minimize distraction while driving.

Your system certainly is the most cost effective I've seen, and no one can say it sounds bad

It could be something as simple as the speaker being out of phase which can happen if the pos and neg wires are hooked up backwards. You said Focus speakers, I am assuming you mean Focal which are really good speakers.

I would have someone from a quality shop take a look at it for you.

I am still waiting to replace the factoryish setup in my 348. I am going the same route as Mdshore did with a small sub in the passenger foot area, and component door speakers. While the best sound is full throttle at 5500-7500 rpm, a decent stereo is not too much to ask for.

The owner prior to the owner I purchased my 348 from dropped about $4K in a stereo system for the car. It's insane! It has eight speakers with a 100 watt amp for each speaker. The amp's are buried all over the car, it's crazy!
