I asked a customer {20ish} why his seat is reclined so much and he said it's "just cooler". I nearly kicked him in the face.

Can you imagine what kind of lower back problems these people will have in 20 years?!

Seems to be an image thing and it also seems to cut across musical influence, race and economic stature. It's beyond me how anyone can drive this way and not cause constant freeway pile ups.

Helps to remember that you were once doing something you thought oh so cool and considered incredibly stupid by the generations before you. That's the way it goes.

 

Just wait until one of them gets into a rear ender and submarines under the shoulder belt and gets himself killed.

 

It seems to be... I agree it looks idiotic and frankly I don't understand how it can be comfortable to drive like that.

 

I'm 17 and I tried (briefly) to drive like that and I couldn't even see out of the car, much less reach the steering wheel without my legs being cramped up under the dash.
Rap sucks. Its destroying my generation.

If you were driving around in a beat up 1970s vintage 4 door piece of junk car in primer with "bling bling" wheels that were worth 4 times what the entire car is worth, wouldn't you want to lean back behind the B pillar and hide your face too?

Another possibility: Maybe those drivers are trying to scoot forward INTO their pants that always seem to be falling off when they're walking around.

"Hey bro,..I be saggin'." No,....you be stupid and don't have enough sense to pull up your pants.

"But I'm down with my homies!" No,....your pants be DOWN by your ankles fool!

 

Horsefly do me a favor and imitate all the silly white kids who drive around like that or wear their clothes in that manner yet have little or nothing to do with hip hop culture.

My seats are almost all reclined...but at 6'2/6'3 or so I dont have much choice...
