    car is 2002 575
I do have rear fog and that uses a small black relay

It must be a spare for something. but i have never seen such a relay with 8 terminals, the directional only has 7. the F1 has 4

Steve- US 575Ms did not have rear fog lamps. That is why there is a blank switch on the panel.

There are other modules using those 9 contact sockets. e.g. the headlight washer timer module, but I couldn't find a photo of this to see if it has 8 pins. On the 575, it's found in the engine bay in "Box H". Those 9 contact sockets can be fitted with a variety of modules, including some with only 4 pins.

However, the manufacturer part number on your relay/module seems to be linked to fog lights on other cars. I would find it hard to believe that they could also be used for washer timers.
