Does anybody know what makes the mufflers of the late Testarossa, 512TR and 512M connection wise different? i recently wanted to install a Tubi (which is obviously declared by all direct dealer websites like Vivid etc fitting for all late Testarossa, 512 TR and M) and it didn’t seem to fit. Need to get pictures to show the issue. Also have an Unused Fuchs that we wanted to try for long which states 512TR embossed on one fixing handle. Wondering whether this will also create issues... In Germany probably non of the previously mentioned systems like Kreissieg etc would last long on the road although they do sound awesome i admit...
I don't like noise. I want to hear the engine, not the exhaust. Factory only for me. It's tuned perfect for the engine. Just gut your precats.
I had a Borla on mine and was very happy with it. With catalitics still on. My friend was driving and he didn't rev it very high :-(
I am contemplating putting on a pair precat/test pipe with a high flow cats and then stock muffler. The two questions I have: how much will the sound improve with this set up and do I need to have the air/fuel mix adjusted? I have a US 1989 car.
With no cats and a stock muffler is only very slightly louder. No need for any adjustments if its OK now. Based on experience few are. Best exhaust? According to a good friend who has been involved with testing many the best output he has seen with stock motor is stock muffler and no cats.
I love the sound of my TR with tubi pre-cat deletes, OEM cat, and tubi exhaust. ZERO drone, and quite subdued at idle…but as soon as you step on it, pure bliss! Lots of mid range frequencies like an ‘70s V12 race car.
A buddy of mine had a capristo on his TR and it sounded wicked! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
