Then go with a T-160 Legend! The problem with the Commando is the money you will spend to make a good, reliable bike out of it. Although, I would love to have a nice Norvil (Les Emery) 1000cc Comando with an interstate tank, a Quaife 5-speed, and an Old Britts electric start kit... The angain, I could just go buy a nice 328GTS! Shiny Side Up! Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yamaha R7, KTM RC8, Ducati Desmosedici, Ducati 998, Ducati 1098, MV Agusta F4, Confederate Wraith...very hard to choose.
I know all about sortin a Norton. The pics of the 850 Roadster and the Triumph T-160 are restorations I did for myself a few years back. There is nothing better than riding a fully sorted Commando... nothing. I've owned and restored 6 since 1974, and taught myself how to ride on the first one. JD
My choice is an MV Agusta Senna...... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
sorry, but to these eyes all modern sport bikes all look the same. No character, just swoopy "gee whiz" lines all coming to a point at the front and at the rear. You can badge ANY of the modern sport baikes with any other brand and there would be no difference. It looks like the only way to tell them apart is the corporate color schemes. Paint them all the same solid color and take the brand markings off the bikes and you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart or from who the manufacturer was. .02 JD
what I mean........... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4EcqYttjiY&feature=player_embedded[/ame] it's not how fast you get there..... it's the journey you take JD
Original Ducati 916... work of art - typical Tamburini - one reason the later MV Augustas are also beautiful Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know guys that love Commandos, and I know guys that hate 'em... a clear indication of a good design actually! And that T-160 is BEAUTIFUL! But I'd still rather a Legend... or at least the money to afford one. I have to agree... bikes like the first VFR were cool, but then they just got... silly. Indeed! You know, I think you hit on a thought I have been trying to define lately. I just don;t like most modern sports cars/bikes. They're thinly designed race cars/motorcycles, and 30 or 40 years ago that was a good thing, but today it just takes all of the character out of the design. How does it go? "Riding well is the best revenge." -Peter Egan Hmmm.... well, I am off to work on the KZ750 Shiny Side Up! Bill

rsbfs: That site is a guilty pleasure for me. I've found myself clicking around that site quite a lot lately. Lots of tempting items, for relatively not a lot of money!
I could use your feedback on this one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know much about bikes but I drooled on the first V-Rod I saw. Hard to believe it's time for a 10th anniversary model... Image Unavailable, Please Login

You would have fit right in with the Cafe Racer guys that were up on The Dragon this past week. Definitely some cool bikes in that group...
