    Hello,
Im thinking about buying a 458 challenge car and using it during track days, how much is the running cost for this car? Is it similar to the 430 challenge? Thanks.

I don't even want to think about it. Seriously.

However, I'm told that the 458C is much more reliable than the 430C, so in that context, repairs are fewer, maintenance about the same...

Depending on how you drive, plan on up to 2 sets of tires a day at $5K.
Driving hard, depending on track, plan about $500/day fuel
Figure a set of pads every few days, so let's say $1500/day
Add in 8 hours of labor for inspection/nut-and-bolt/brake bleeds (free if you do it)
Amortize in the fluid change cycles, say $300 a day?'

Few parts on my cars have "worn out" over 16K km. Before then, you'd want to be looking at all hoses, radiators, lower control arms, etc to be safe.

Note - what I'm describing is 9.9/10ths, driving hard pace for long sessions

It sounds like a lot, but these are high-strung race cars. The implication of a mechanical is always bad, especially at high speeds.

Having said that, my (well-noted) running costs were much lower than my F430C (which ate brakes, front wheel bearings, thermocouples and potentiometers

Buy the best possible car you can find and afford, they are a blast!
