A moniker would be a name; as close as they might get is Scuderia Ferrari for the F1 Team. They have no motto, though.

I remember seeing a scene (tv, film, I forget), where a guy pulls a sports car into a rural gas station.

One of the yokels comes over and asks, "What's that little thing gonna be when it grows up?"

The gold chain type replies, "Two years of your salary."

In shock, the yokel exclaims, "Hoo-wee. You mean that thang is worth 30 thousand?!" ;)

(Yep, Hollyweird does go for the cliches.)

I always thought "Ferrari" was Ferrari's "slogan".

It's not like you can buy "Mazda" branded running shoes or after-shave. ;)

In the 1980's - on the back of some european magazine and in couple of Road and Track's; Ferrari used to have an add with the Ferrari rectangular logo that said "We are the competition"

they pretty much did not - do not need a tag line.

    how about..

"Yikes, I hope that red light doesn't mean anything too serious"

Or for the dealer parts department "yes it does cost that much !"

    or for the cars simply

    "Beguiling"

That was on the Ferrari North America flier and ads for the whole line up in 1986. I have the two pagers for Testarossa and Mondial. I think it was just for FNA, not the entire company.

Correct, moniker = name. What I think is being asked is, what is Ferraries "tag line"... Or their "positioning statement"?

I like the fact the do not use one. That IS the statement.
