I bought a hydraulic spring compressor to replace my shocks.
I will have to put the shock in upside down so I can get to the split ring.
So I need to release the all of the spring tension, so I can remove the spring from the shock.

So I need to have the piston (pump) extended to make up for the compression on the spring.

Added 3 inches and had 1 inch after I released the spring tension.

The new Koni 82-1982SP6 and 82-1983SP6 (which were on back order since June)
are NOT exactly like the originals.
The cylinder is not straight sided and instead of 2 half rings that hold the spring compressed
there is a single flat split ring.
