What is the most collectible Ferrari GT Car? After the succesfull Poll with the Ferrari Challenge Cars it would be interesting what the most collectible GT Ferrari is. What you think? 348 GT Competizioe (only the Michelotto Racing Cars) 355 GTs (not the Challenge Cars) 360 N-GT, GT, GTC 430 GT3 and GT2 458 GT3 and GT2 And please tell us why you vote for your favorite. Happy voting...
No the GTs were only Racing Cars for the big and long distanze Races like Daytona, 1000 km Monza, 6 Hour Races etc.,...
Does the Prodrive 550 count as a Ferrari GT? I think it was the most dominate racing GT car since the 333 SP. It woke up Ferrari to the importance of GT racing. IMHO I don't think the 355,360 or 430 GT's were game changers. The 458 has been extremely successful because the factory is somewhat supporting the cars but not at a Porsche or Audi level. Ferrari is giving Michelotto technical support in the creation of the cars but after delivery you are on your own. What do you guys think?
In terms of race victories, and, therefore, importance to the marque, I think it would be the 360GT. The 360GT won back-to-back 2002 & 2003 GrandAm championships. CW
Technically speaking the Prodrive 550 was not a factory Ferrari. The 550 and 575 GTC was Ferrari's response to private customer demands. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If this is the case, then my vote is not necessarily by model but by specific car with most successful race history i.e. Le Mans being the pinnacle: 458 GT (2014 PRO class) Prodrive's 550 GTS (2003). Sorry, I don't have VINs handy.
I voted for the 458 GT2 car mainly because of its numerous wins in the WEC. World Endurance Champinship trumps all others for collectibility even though the 458 won in other championships such as ELMS and ALMS, TUSC. Especially in the hands of the factory blessed AF Corse with factory support and factory pilots such as Gimi, Toni and Fisi. I do believe the Prodrive 550 will be on the same level in the future as its sheer looks sounds and racing history will make it a collectors item in years to come. The fact that it wasn't Ferrari blessed won't hurt its values as it still had enormous success all over the world (I believe the only race it didn't win was Sebring) and when Ferrari actually built a 575 GTC it still was in the shadow of its older privately designed, built and raced brethren. Prodrive actually approaches the factory about some type of tie up but the factory wasn't interested and as the history books show it was their loss. Now to find a Prodrive 550 for sale-less then a dozen chassis and they come up for sale very rarely.
The single greatest Ferrari GT car is without a shadow of a doubt the 458 - in either GT2 or GT3 spec. The record books speak for themselves. More than 600 podiums and in 2014 every single major GT championship was won by a 458 including the 24 hours of Le Mans, Daytona, Spa, etc etc. The Ferrari prize giving rewarded more than 70 drivers..... Daytona and Sebring will be my swan song in a 458 and then onto the 488 but I, for one, will miss the noise of the GT2. It has been a privilege to race both the GTE and GT3 and memories are forever!!
...and Championship win in 2015.... I agree, though, completely Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
