I wish every sports car buyers guide was this frank and detailed save an awful lot of disappointment in the long run Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The trouble with the 288 is that it seems Ferrari ran out of ideas of what to do with the 308 GTB jogs ......... oh wait, we can "hotrod" some 308s , put the GTO badge on and some nutters will buy them Not saying it's not a great car but to me it was a marketing exercise for the terminally gullible (I'd have bought one if I had the readies )
the 288GTO was a homologation car for Group B road racing, which barely got started before Group B cars were banned in 1986. Ferrari accidentally discovered the huge demand for factory special semi-competition cars and we've had them ever since.
They were to a degree, but in period they were a fast little car for the time with exceptional handling and were compared directly with 911E and S models The local Chrysler dealer in Liverpool (Bob Walker ?) had one and my favourite memory was when his sales manager (in an E38) and he had a race from the showroom to the street on a Friday afternoon .......... was very close but I think the sales manager eased off when push came to shove as they both went for the same exit onto the Hume
I hate hand-me-downs !! Oh, hold up .............. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They’re all hand-me-downs now. Provided you gave the seats a good clean when you got it, your hand-me-down is fine. I wish you could order a “new” 355. Imagine a new 355 with an updated interior, another 100hp, and the gearbox from a Speciale. Especially if they made it in the most excellent and desirable GTS spec. This one even has the (almost) perfect interior! https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/ferrari-f355-gts
I remember reading all that but ............ interesting comparison http://twinrev.com/cars/Ferrari-308-GTB-vs-Ferrari-288-GTO BTW the AGP isn't far away, going ?
Seeing you like comparing cars eight years different in release date http://twinrev.com/cars/Ferrari-575-vs-Ferrari-458-Italia
Gee, you wouldn't touch a 355 in that comparison ................ but somehow it doesn't translate on the track
Has the QLD branch of the FCA issued a public apology for their gross incompetence in not rewarding your car the concours trophy in the competition section? I blame Horse
When Horse is involved there are never any apologies .............. I was surprised his car didn't win by proxy
Just to keep this "thread" on track, I should have mentioned I'd also like to own a 59/60 TR, respect written all over them, even if they aren't pretty Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
