Looking back at how the Dino climbed in value, what Ferrari model do you feel is next? Some will say the 308's, 328's, Boxers, 355's? What are you thoughts and why?

Too many discussions on this already... and too many variables, especially on high-volume/production models.

Ultimately, prime examples of most any will rise in value, maybe jump a bit here and there.

Fair point, though it depends on how you define “prime examples”. If you just mean excellent condition and well maintained, I get that. Still, Dino’s skyrocketed in value, even those needing restoration were sought after. So, the question is, what model out there could be the next that experiences a similar bump.

Have you driven it? Has it been out of a climate-controlled underground bunker-garage? If Yes.... Your car is worth zero. ;)
I will gladly taker it of your hands for free, but YOU pay for shipping/taxes ;)
Maybe the next one is the one to go up in value.

575 maranello. 2056 made, 1800 made with the first F1 system ever put in a V12 road car, a single disc clutch they didn't make many of and precursor to the awesome DCT we have today. First regular car from ferrari to do 200 mph, the supercars did it previously. Lots of firsts, and damn it and the 550 are gorgeous. The 550 is worth more now bc it has a stick but the 575 is rarer and no other car can ever say it was the first ferrari v12 that didn't have a stick,.......did i mention maintenance is fairly cheap on the 575 maranello, my belts were around $2,500 and due once every 5 years. They made less 575 maranello than the great dino 246 GT most dont know that fun fact. Lots of people on this site call the 575 a production ferrari but the fact is it was indeed made in less quantities than the 246 gt and we all consider that a classic car right?

Good ones can be had $90-120k right now, less than 600 ever came to the US and tons have been wrecked look on http://www.wreckedexotics.com/search?q=Ferrari+575M. Id say give or take 500 of these are even in the US right now. I love mine more than my SLR mclaren and thats 3x the price, the 575 is just awesome and really has the beauty of older ferraris combined with modern performance. The 599,F12, and 812 all are amazing engines but from a beauty standpoint I think the 550/575 win the modern v12 looks contest. I think they haven't appreciated yet bc the "newest" ones are still only 13 years old right now, the 2005 model, soon the world will appreciate these cars and im sure theyll be $200-300k.

Great points. And it’s a fabulous, gorgeous car for sure. I also agree with you on the F1. A very similar scenario exists with the 355 F1. First Ferrari to ever offer the F1 transmission and far fewer made compared to gated cars.

Correct but they made way more 355 and their servicing costs are way higher as well but it’s a blast to drive, I love the 355

I think people will "discover" the 348. They are a pretty solid little car. Most of the common and well known issues with the model have pretty much been repaired. The 348 spider is one espeacilly I think will take off soon.

I actually like the 348, but the only ones I would have an interest in buying (the GTB or GTS) we’re not offered in the US.

The first GTB/GTS is now 25 years old, so get one quick before the tariffs kick in. ;)

Speaking of jump, the 348 GT Competizione is already on the way up. Only 50 built btw.

Too much trouble getting a GTB/GTS over here, not to mention that it’s highly unlikely to find one that would come anywhere near my standards. But, one never knows.

So only 94-95 spiders were available to you? The 348B and Ts were a 52 state car as far as I recall. They should be easy to find. The spider was only built for a year and a half. Not sure of the production numbers, but they are a rare car.

The TS, Special, and Comp cars are climbing in value. I personally think the Ts is the way to go if looking into a 348.

The GTB and GTS (different than the tb and ts) were not offered in the US. I'm not a spider fan.

California. Most other States, importing a 25 year old car is much easier.

Ahh, yes. Agreed. Still, way too much trouble and cost for that car. Still, if a time capsule, mint, exceptional Rosso Corsa/Beige or Rosso Corsa/Nero 348 GTB surfaces in Europe, it would catch my attention for certain.

Impossible to predict. There was a sudden and irrational run-up in 308 prices a few years ago, amidst talk of, "the last completely analog car." But that bubble burst (I got my 308 before that).

The 575 is awesome, but I think its popularity in the future could well hinge upon it being the oldest V12 car that people who can't drive a manual could buy. Same with the F1 355's.

But markets aren't ever perfectly rational. Tulip bulbs, anyone? :)

Maybe there won't be another one to pop in value ever. Maybe everthing just stays where it is and drifts up with inflation. Maybe most of the modern cars today just depreciate moving forward. Maybe all of them go down together if the economy or stock market goes down.

The market is what the market is.

It'll be the 612 OTO right after I sell mine. Or it'll never be the OTO as long as I own one.

Well, obviously. But this thread is for speculative fun. “Maybe” is the only certainty.

Most have retreated from their highs of 2015,and seem to have settled down around 2014 levels , although still showing a decent appreciation over the few years previous to that.

V8 I believe the 308 Vetro will continue its appreciation due to relative rarity ,also the next in line after the 246, this will in turn drag up the early carb/steel GTB's,which used to be at only a 5-10% discount.Don't discount the GT4 which has normally struggled a bit due to styling/2+2 not being to everyone's taste.

V12 i'm guessing the 550 Maranello will be the next one to move back up , last manual only V12.

Both basically old school machines and to enthusiasts of those years quite beautiful in their own way.

All depends of course on other market factors/ economy etc.

I don't think *any* of the models are going to skyrocket up in the near future personally. I think the market is going to continue to "cool" for some time now.
