What is the preferred gear to dyno a 6-speed in?

    I'll be strapping down the 355 tonight to test a new exhaust piece, just curious what is the most common gear to test in.

    Is any ratio on the 355 6-speed 1:1?

    The 5th, with a gear ratio of 1.03 (output gear/ input gear = 30/29), is the closest to 1:1 ... that will be 247km/h @8500 rpm !!! :)

    Has anyone here dyno'd an F1 before? Are there any special precautions or issues with not having control over the 3rd pedal? It seems like it would be fine, just engage 1st as you would normally for a standing start and work up to 5th gear for the pull.
