Thank you Steve. It isnt ugly, far from it. But comparing it to a GT, the line doesnt have that natural flow.
Pictured from the side, GTS and GT facing each other. Roof off the GTS, but a good pic. From Classic Driver: http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazine/3900.asp?id=15588 Image Unavailable, Please Login
That pretty quarter window as well as the more comprehensive flow does it for me. Has there ever been a targad GT ? Probably not whith the GTSs available. Perhaps an early 206.
I think there was a 246GT discussed here a little while back that was converted to a GTS. It may have been on Ebay. From memory, it was converted to look like a GTS though and didn't retain the quarter window.
There is the 1968 206GT that was converted in period to a Spyder http://gtcarlot.com/car/85622 . Seems well done and is more like the design strategy Ferrari followed with the 348GTS and 355GTS in which it hides the fact it is a Spyder until you remove the roof. Looks as though this 206 still exists. Freeman
Freeman, I almost bought this car earlier this year. It is s/n 00144. It was sold to Germany. There is a bunch of things about this car that are amazing. Very interesting stuff that hasn't been made known yet. Shawn
Shawn, Since first seeing this 206 years ago, I've been fascinated by it. I think if the factory would have made the GTS this way, we wouldn't be having this poll. Best of all worlds! Freeman
That 206 gts(yellow) is just amazingly well executed. Wrt the 246 Gt vs gts, the Gt is definitely the prettier one, but as an architect friend said, " I wanna be seen in the spyder". That must be the real reason for the higher demand of the gts. Ed

I have to admit that I prefer the style of the GT. But when we have one of those days with perfect temps and I leave the top at home..........no contest. Guess I could say the same about the SA........i prefer the coupe but we are entering dream season here in FL.....where having drop tops make you smile. Euro GTS 05216 below..... I'm late to the game in the discussion. I do think the gt is prettier, but just my opinion. I do have a gt, I'm 6'1"", and my head doesn't touch the roof. However, I can barely get my legs under the steering wheel when I sit down.
