I'm a little Pixxxx off when posting a reply to get disconnected and loosing a paragraph of information. What is the time limit on posting since sometimes I have to verify the information and end up having to login again. After that I'm out of here.

Yep, that can be a real pain.

Sometimes when I'm doing a long post and I can't save it right away, I select all the text and do a "copy" command (ctrl-c).
That way, I have all that text copied to my scratch pad and I can resurrect it with a "paste" command if I need to.

It's my form of typing "insurance".

I used notepad and word in the past. One of them added what looked like format data at the top of the entry so I was reluctant to use it again. In that case I deleted and started over. You're right, it's safer to cut and paste. What is the time limit before they dump you.

No time limit that I know of on the server side of fchat.

But on my iPad, when I open up another Safari browser window, it likes to do a "refresh" of the URL web address when I return to the original post edit browser window.

And, of course, the browser URL "refresh" empties out all my typing and makes a new empty post box for me to type into.

From your post I thought opening a second browser (IE) while on Firefox might have caused the drop. Not so, I just lost a reply while trying to post here. Something is timing out without any indication on this end. I do the post and it logs me back in (not every time).

If the post is "that" big, you could get 1/2 way post that part, and then immediately reply to yourself for the second 1/2.

I will get logged out by time surfing by safari set to private browsing. Never been timed out at all without it set that way on my end.

I'm not aware of a time limit, I've never had that problem
