One thing about the using the fronts on the rear is that the tire rim starts 37.85mm further out from the car's normal wheel position. That is about 1.5 inches more! It's kind of like stretching the rear wheel base 3 inches!

Paul, I need to know how you measured offset. If you measured it from the front of the rim, which appears to be what you were doing..I think, as it accounts for the 348 annomly, then I have to recalculate all my calculations, as right now, I am using numbers based on the centerline of the rim, as seen in Mule's link.

Thanks, Chris. There is a thread in the Showroom on the car with the wheels mounted. I haven't noticed any oversteer difference at all, but I will keep in mind your recommendation.

Hopefully the link helps out with the offset. I have always used that method on offset, since I did a lot of truck wheels on previous vehicles and wanted to avoid the rollerskate look. Basically, offset is the amount of difference from the centerline to the mounting surface. Wheel width is very important.

    Omar,

I finally got my hands on a set of 360 rims to confirm the offsets:

    360 Wheel offset

    360 Front
    7.5J x 18 +31.5mm offset
    360 Rear
    10J x 18 +39mm offset.

328ABS Wheel offsets (Wheels from chassis 76626)

    328 Front
    7J x 16 +38mm offset
    328 Rear
    8J x 16 +63.5mm offset

    From the above:

    360 Front Rims on a 328 ABS
Offset difference of 6.5mm (wheel pushed further out)
    Increase in rim width - (1/2") 12.7mm -
Wheel pushed out a further 6.35mm (Half of the extra rim width)
Total distance front lip of rim has moved +12.85mm

    360 Rear Rims on a 328 ABS
Offset difference of 24.5mm (wheel pushed further out)
    Increase in rim width - (2") 50.8mm -
Wheel pushed out a further 25.4mm (Half of the extra rim width)
Total distance front lip of rim has moved +49.9mm

If anyone would like to confirm the above calculations :)

    Cheers

    Paul

I worked through the numbers and checked the diagrams, yup thats what it is.

Now INYO is such an application feasible or are they too much? Or should I start looking for something else and give up? :-/

    Omar,

It's a shame but it looks like the late 328 will never be able to take the 360 rims with out some serious modification! Have you looked at some of the other aftermarket wheels available?

The other possibility is 355 wheels as they have a rear offset of +78mm. You would still need to look at the interference problems with the shocks.

    Cheers

Oh well, thanks for all the help Paul. I am now talking to F-uk about getting some F512M rims. :) Just need to manage to sell these rims now. Thanks a million for all your help though!
