Going to Dallas later this week to the Lamborghini driving event. While I'm there I plan on looking at some of the cars at the Lambo dealer. I've got my eye on this one.
    It's the White 93 348
    http://www.lamborghinidallas.com/ld_inventory.html
What makes the "Speciale" so special?
    What is the differences.
They only describe the condition as "very nice"
What do you think a fair price should be? (I haven't inquired yet)

Its missing the Speciale seats and also the front bumper. Color is quite unique but will be difficult to sell compared to say a red/yellow/black exterior.

Car looks to be in great condition and with a new major service

    I am guessing $58-60k

Here's a thread a few months back about the same car --> http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=132195

    Thanks for that link.
Why do you think it does not have the correct front bumper?
Is it the whole bumper different or is the lip removable/addable?
The front lower bumper is scraped also on the passenger side.
The taillamps do not have the louvers over them, is this because it is a Speciale?

The front bumper is only missing the SS lip spoiler, you can buy one from Valance and sort out the scrape on the front at the same time.

No grille over the rear lights because its a Speciale, don`t let the Red Leemings put you off because its White.

    Regards,
    Phil.

I was the high bidder on this car the last time it was on ebay. It did not meet the reserve. I gave them a call as to what it would take to buy it. They quoted me $73,000. I thanked them for there time.

$73K is way too high. You can buy a nice 355 at that price. Even Challenge cars which are at the top of the pecking order when it comes to 348 would be under $70k

We have been watching this car for some time. LoD had it advertised on thier web site for some high price that I forgot, so no one here bid on it. The preference for SS cars is that they are mechanically the most up-to-date of the non-Spiders, excluding Challenge (US and Int'l race prep) and Competizione (Non-USA) cars. SS's come in 2 versions: '92-'93 run of 100 and a '94 run of 15.

Series 1 SS cars can have these additions:
    1. Front spoiler lip - some remove it for clearance.
    2. Tail light openings around the lenses.
    3. Interior badging.
    4. Less restrictive exhaust yielding 312 Hp (up from 300).
    5. More aggressive gearing for better acceleration.
    6. Motronic 2.7 engine management (move from V. 2.5).
    7. Rear wheels spaced out 25 mm wider per side (no change in tire size).
    8. Stiffer springs.
    9. Carbon fiber racing shell seats (not all cars received these).
    10. Minor rearrangement in engine compartment - battery to front fenderwell, et al.

The community figures that an SS should sell for between a $5K and $8K premium, if that. Personally, I don't place them higher than the Spiders.

1993TS SS, No. 078, Black exterior and crema/black interior. As for silver, my guess is more than a few, but you only have 100 examples total. :D

So your SS is the equivalent to the Fiorano 355 then......a good reason to be proud!;)

Ok, not even I can read that without cracking. :D I think the Fiorano owners got more for their money. I liken the SS to a BMW 3 series with the Performance Package. I'm 348 crazy, but there are certain leaps a reasonable man cannot take! :D:D:D

    I did not mean equal=equal! I meant being 100 "special" ones in a production series....EVERYONE knows any street 348 doesn't hold a candle to any street 355!! :D :D

Interesting that both this dealer on the white 1993 Speciale and Auto Palace in Pittsburgh on their red 1993 Speciale (the last time I checked, anyway) refuse to take less than $73k for their cars. Do these dealers know something that we don't about the market value of 348 Speciales?
