Maserati 3500 GT is pretty similar as well. The Triumph TR3 is a fun car but with that 4-banger tractor motor, not what you'd expect to find under that fine Italian body. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love airy coupes. 3.0CS Alfa Jr. And now.... TR Italia 2000... So many cars. so little time, so little garage space...
About 325-350 Italias were made...nobody knows the exact amount...of which it's estimated that about 50 survive. However, you can have one assembled for you, or you can buy the body shells to put on a TR3 chassis from Revington TR... http://www.revingtontr.com/shop/Collection_Display.asp?mscssid=R1H03WD9KWMV9KVQVU2N0JLTKQ3X01X6&CarType=ITALIA&CID=706 Personally, I'd go for the TRS Le Mans car if I was going to build a replica. Another oddity in the Triumph range was the TR2/TR3 Francorchamps. Chassis' were sent to Belgium where coupe bodies were made and installed. Needles to say, they were quite expensive for a Triumph...costing as much as a Jag, so there weren't too many made. 22 supposedly, but there may be five more, as when they closed the factory down, five were given away as part of a severance package. It's not know if the 22 production number includes the last five. The whereabouts of 18 are known. Image Unavailable, Please Login
