Just out of curiosity, what is this giant loop of hose for? This is on the firewall between the engine and the luggage space. Also, while I'm asking, what is the large cannister on the left of the photo? Image Unavailable, Please Login

The canister is a charcoal canister that is part of the overall emissions control system on the US market cars. Intended to capture fuel vapors, I believe. Not sure about the hoses, but looks like they may tie into the canister. There appears to be some type of check valve in line with the hose. Had a early '70's Corvette fitted with essentially the same charcoal canister-type system, as was common on domestic cars of the era.

Thank you. I am still wondering why the hose is 5 feet long, but I guess only Ferrari knows.
