I have a 2007 F430 and cant figure out what this is for. I know its got to do with the sound system. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am going to guess that this is the map CD for the navigation. We will see what the experts say......Steve
Maybe its for some type of factory stereo reset? Being that it says Harman/Becker on the disc makes it obvious it deals with the stereo. I really haven't got a clue as to what it would be used for other than factory settings/reset. BTW, I also have an 07 coupe and don't seem to have that disc anywhere in my possession.
Probably a 'test' CD. I've seen them before on demonstrator cars. They usually have the kind of music that makes the stereo sound the best. Just throw it in the CD slot and see what it is (or what it does . Wouldn't be surprised if it has some F1 engine 'music' in there. He he. Good luck.
You're right Steve, it is definitely the Navigation Software used for the Becker Navteq Traffic Pro 794x. V3.7 seems to be a bit an old version though. BTW, this software version is not a final version because RC1 = Release Candidate 1. Hope this helps, Stef
Does it perhaps have something to do with voice commands - my system required a system DVD to be inserted for voice command to come online - navigation was already working fine.
Update: It will not play in the F430 or a CD player. When I load it on the computer this is what I get. I have contacted the previous owner and he had no idea what it was either. Sorry for the bad picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of the folders is called speech so could be for installing voice control. Looking in my infotainment manual it refers to a cd for reinstalling voices and languages, I assume this is it and you probably need to go into the menu to tell it to expect a system disc before it recognises the disc, usually it expects a music cd.
Got it I will give it a try tonight! Thank you! If it had Nav would the maps be in a disc as well? When I was playing around with the system last night I hit nav and it asked for the "software" I think. I put in that disk in and nothing happened.
Depending on the year of the car the Nav data is on a cd or on an SD card of some sort. You will be able to tell, can you slide the units ferrari logo to one side to pop open the left hand side of the unit and remove the control panel? Behind this will be the SD card which holds Nav data. I have a card for Nav data and a cd for speech but I guess some units will have 2 CS's, one for Nav and one for voice. Do you have the infotainment book, it is quite a complex unit to understand and program and I think without it you may struggle, it is far thicker than the owners manual although it does containt several languages.
