Even though you drive slowly, is the car in 1st gear? I'm sure the sound makes them think you're driving too fast. If an upshift doesn't unbunch their a$$es, then just let 'em know "Oh, this is nothing. WATCH!" And drop the hammer.

 

Just teasing, Matt. Check out my profile. I've had 2 XKRs so I know all about the part where they are in the shop all the time. That's probably the reason I had two, actually - one to drive while the other one was getting fixed.

 

What amazes me is how many "women" will become confrontational. Just look at these prior posts. I have witnessed in my time, more women take matters into their own hands and subject themselves to something that can be inherently dangerous. How can these neighbors judge how the inflamatory nature of their comments could set off another. It boggles my mind the arrogance.....as arrogant in my opinion as someone speeding.

You gotta wonder if there just not getting the "old what for."

Not sure of the purpose of laying rubber by the one poster....that's just immaturity de facto.

 

And then the same psyco soccer mom passes you in a school zone, yakkin on her cell phone. Go figure. Just ignore them.

 

Happened to me quite a few times actually. In fact, one of my neighbours just moved out because of it

 

I had a neighbour like that once. He liked to drink, too. Great combination.

After yelling at me one night, I had enough and provoked him. Made sure the neighbours heard him threaten me, then called the police. That was fun!

 

My neighbors are all cool. One of the first passengers in my 348 was my neighbor. He was washing his car or something and saw me roll outta my garage and his jaw dropped. We are friendly. They are good people. Offered a ride and like someone said, couldnt say no!

I know when I was little if a neighbor was a jerk off, they got egged and what not on mischief night. I ignore a lot of stuff and im overall a cool neighbor. Ive never gotten egged or messed with. I must be doing something right.


Best revenge is living well.

 

Long ago, I had a few cars that were fairly loud. Sport muffler 911, Weber carbed 240Z with nearly straight pipes on it, a 289 Mustang, and a Boss 429.
People would wave and fuss sometimes, despite really not trying to foul the nest.
I finally had it, waited until greatest offender was working in her garden about 800 ft down the street. Boss had some mods, 4" collectors, 3.5" pipes dumping in front of doors. I warmed up car,dropped pipes, rolled car down drive, fired it up in street, and did a huge burnout with front wheels off ground, did 1-2 shift even with her garden. Shut it down, put it in garage, and they never said another word. Ever. Actually, they probably were deaf by then. No cops, no nada.

 

Matt, be polite and go speak with them. Since you don't speed in the neighborhood maybe it has to do with something entirely different. Your young and successful, how old are the neighbors? Is your neighborhood full of conservative SUV's and American cars? Is it just the one woman? Be pleasant and if there is no winning the neighbors over just remember that if your business keeps growing you will be moving to a more exclusive neighborhood anyway. Or you could rent the garage out during the day to the worst punk rock band you can find. Then there will be no doubt the neighbors dislike you.

 

Just last week I stopped to get Subway on my way home from work. I had a softball game that night, but like to have plenty of time to eat, get ready and relax. This lady is driving b/w 15 and 20 in a 25. I'm driving 25 on her ass. Every street, she nearly slams on her brakes and then proceeds to take each turn at 2mph. When she finally turns off to a side street, I gun it and keep going straight so I can beat her. The speed on the street I'm on is now 35mph.

Next thing I know, she sitting out front of my house, guess writing down my plate. She doesn't say anything just sits there. I finally yell out "Got a ****ing problem!" She yells back about me not speeding. I yell back well I have a commitment to be at in an hour and you weren't even driving the speed limit. Then she tells me I need to rearrange my schedule. I say how can I do that, when I work all ****ing day and then have to sit in traffic!?! Then she drives off yelling she's gonna call the cops and all this.

My records clean, if she called, the ran my plates then probably cussed for wasting their time.

 

Glad I am president of my HOA!! and the police!!! They don't complain about me....

 

Too funny.. I actually did the same thing a few years ago just to prove that it could be much worse.

Unfortunately it didn't have the same result and we nearly came to blows with the neighbor; once he stopped shooting blood out of his eyeballs he got the point and was never heard from again.

I did have one neighbor take the right turn onto my street at about 70mph and almost stack his vette into 1) brick wall or 2) our solid brick/concrete mailbox. I think he learned his own lesson as I haven't seen him go over 20mph since.

 

Jesus man... I didn't realize tractors could do burnouts!

my range rover V8 has almost straigth pipes out the back, jjust one LOUD silencer, some neighbors called the police when i speed out because i was in a hurry and the exhaust sound turns on some alarms from cars parked inside, but by the time they arrive i was long gone, now the girl just gives me a mean look when i pass by her house

 

AKA "the fun police" or "civilian patrol"

 

I guess we must live in a cool neighbourhood. Never had a complaint. Cars, bikes, snowmobiles, atvs ... no one's annoying.

 

I got this moron kid in his Sentra SE-R with a Fart can on it........always speeding through the neighborhood, and how do I know he speeds cause I am doing the speedlimit of 25 and he is moving alot faster.........got alot of kids that play on their skateboards and bikes.....I keep saying one day he is going to hit a kid, but should I say something, or wait till he hits a kid.....then again I don't have kids so won't really affect me, but I'm sure I would feel different if my own kids were playing in the street.......
