What is your opinion of the Lotus Exige?

The Exige and Elise are the same speed. 0-60 is 4.7second for both. In 2006 the Elise was 1980lbs the Exige was 2020lbs (with similar options). The Exige has 100lbs of downforce at 100mph, the Elise has 8lbs of downforce. The top speed on the Elise is 148mph and the Exige is 147.

On a track, where you'll find my Exige regularly ( 9 track days between now and the end of March), the Exige is hands down faster around the track. A buddy and I are at about the same skill level and we swap the same data logger. The difference is small, but the mid corner speed (and thus exit speed) is about 2mph (depending on the turn of course) higher with the Exige regardless of which of us is driving the cars.

For me if you were to pick between the two cars, it really needs to be based on the looks.

As of 2008 the Lotus has 240 hp. Personally, I wouldn't like the car as a DD.

What do i think of the Exige? Fantastic car. It really rewards driver skill on the track. Nothing makes you feel good like chasing down a 700hp Porsche with a 190hp car and getting the point by. (Disclaimer: driver skill was of course not equal between the two. The Porsche was definately the faster car, just not with the new driver in it)

The first year they had them at the LA Auto show I fell in love...The dealer...was it symbolic ? was taking orders. I placed one.

Car came in. I bought it. I couldnt fit comfortably in it but I loved it. I kept it a few months and then sold it.

Fantastic car but I just dont fit...

I often forget I even owned it was such a short amount of time.
