    I had this perverted Idea of getting an Isetta then putting some cool wheels on it, a huge wing on the back & paint it black w BMW stripes on it, like an M1 :)

    This is actually the car that saved BMW from extinction back in the day. BMW was concentrating on the larger cars and hit a real hard spot. M/B was going to buy BMW but a last minute manuver saved the company. This small, homely car helped reach a different audience (obviously). Who would have ever thought....

    There is a very nice example of one of these at the BMW factory in Spartanburg, SC - in the Zentrum Museum.

    Neat place but I thought it would have more cars in the museum part. Still a nice place to stop if you're traveling through on I-85 however. You can see the Zentrum facility from the interstate it's that close to I-85.
