Anyone had the dream where you lose your teeth or the one where you're walking and you fall into a hole in the ground? These are frequent dreams that I have...Pretty interesting. It's wierd though because during my Middle School and High School years I use to have these dreams where I would show up to school in my pajamas all the time but since then I havent had that dream. Can somebody analyze dreams?

Anyway, What kind of dreams does everyone have?

I had a really intense sexual dream about an ex girlfreind last night. It's been 7 hours since and i'm still thinking about it. It's got me a little weirded out. I just hope I don't have an incident with my girlfreind tonight.

EDIT: it's her birthday today, I never would have remembered if not for this dream. I'm going to send her a birthday email, should I tell her about this dream? I have never had one like it. She is pretty sexually free, so I doubt she would be offended, maybe curious

Starting right after I graduated from college in 1977, I regularly had dreams where I was back in college or high school and hadn't gone to classes in months and had finals coming right up....a year or so ago I stopped having them, but my wife still does. I understand this type of dream is very common.

shiggins: Keep it to yourself, situations like that are potential hornets' nests, best left unstirred...

That was found online, but in a few books I have, interpretations are as follows:
    Teeth:
    - falling out: death.
-losing your front teeth: sickness of children
    - having teeth knocked out: sudden misfortune
    - having teeth pulled: financial losses

It could be one of these, or something else. So reflect on what a type of change that is going on in your life and perhaps that is what the dream is mirroring.

    Falling:
    - being injured in a fall: will endure hardship and lose friends
    - falling and being frightened: will experience some trouble
    - falling in a grave hole: a catastrophe is ahead

These are the only matches I can find in the generalized meanings. I would have to say, given those generalized meanings, you might be anticipating a particular loss and it might be more dramatic than you think.

    ____

On the general discussion of dreams, it's interesting to read into some of them, but they typically do not lead to much inner reflection, only reassurance of what is going on in life or what has already happened. One dream did catch me though, but I cannot remember the specifics. A friend of mine and I were talking at a party and he said something I had not thought of before and I was stumped. I even wrote it down shortly after the dream and was stuck on it for a while. The reason it was most troubling is because you typically dream what you know, or somewhere in the realm of your imagination. Anything outside of that, or something original does not seem to be generated, at least in words.

I usually have dreams of fighting something or something evil, it kind of creeps me out and since Ive never had any near death expeiriences (that I know of) and im not really religious so the fact that ive had some dreams conversating with who I see as the devil really freaks me out. The dreams I have usually arent that good.

The other night I had this dream where something was shooting spears at me in this basement type place, I swear I got hit in this dream, but i can remember talking to someone after that event.

The weirdest dream I had I still remember so vividly its like i just woke up from this dream 5 mintues ago.... I was walking somewhere through this desert canyon and then I sat down at this HUGE table and had a conversation with the devil, while two girls of his sat next to him( they looked like the hot evil type LOL) anyways he showed me the way into hell and all this, and as weird as it sounds, the way to get into hell was a very colorful cave. Anyways when i guess my final time came i walked through this "ball" type event room and a lot of people I knew were there in nice dresses, tuxes etc.

I woke up from that dream very weired out

I have had nightmares frequently for the past ten years.

Running, being chased, chasing people, fistfights, killing/assassinating people, falling, being killed/wounded, having family die in accidents or murdered, emotional and physical confrontations, being extremely embarassed (ie. the underwear at school/work dreams), apocalyptic events, etc... I have very intense dreams.

Which is odd for me because my conscious demeanor is jovial, gregarious and optimistic. And low-stress, especially under intense demands. Which makes me think that it is my brain's way of releasing the tension I *should* be feeling during the day. That or I have undiagnosed sleep apnea.

    Alex, fascinating dream.

Ryan, not sure what to say about that. Lots of confrontations regardless of how you perceive yourself or others perceive you. Either that, or you feel you are confronting everything around you head on? I'm taking guesses here with the information provided.

Three dreams that reoccur for me:

    1) Dislocated jaw (used to have this one a lot, doesn't happen any more)

    2) Having a gun that won't fire when I need it.

    3) Living in a house for a long time and finding rooms that I didn't know about.

If they mean anything deep, I don't care.

The other day I had a dream that I was getting smuggled into Las Vegas with Nelson Mandela and Mao Tse-Tung.. I'm still scratching my head over that one.

My dreams generally aren't nightmares, they're more like intricate puzzles that I have to solve. Sometimes I'm in a dangerous position, but it's never terrifying.

Has anyone else ever tried Lucid Dreaming? I had some success with it a while back but didn't pursue it any further.. definitely kind of weird to take control of the dream and reshape it into something else intentionally.

Actually, that reminds me that I've been having "going back to high school" dreams lately too. Like that I haven't finished a math course or something... I'm sitting there trying to tell them I really go to law school.

Last night I dreamed that a friend of mine put a roll cage in his CRX, and I had to cram myself into the back so that someone important could ride up front. I have ridden in the back of a CRX before, but the roll cage made things difficult.

I have dreamt of my own murder once. And I didn't die in my sleep.

Once when I was about 8, I had a dream that was nothing more than a silver Porsche 911 Turbo slowly rotating on a turntable. For some reason, it scared the crap out of me, and I woke up in a cold sweat.

I once had a very intricate dream that involved an ex-employee at a Porsche dealership stealing 993s and giving them out to kids as prizes. I got one, but I gave it back when I figured out what he was doing. I also tried to kill him.

I once had a dream that involved Bette Middler, Oldsimobiles, and talking Dobermans. That one was very weird.

My subconscious-feeling-of-inadequacy-recurring-dream always involves failure to find a lecture hall on an unfamiliar college campus.

Always a different campus but the theme is always the same: A crappy little sweaty map that doesn't match up to the streets, with a really busy 6 lane right thru campus.

One of the worst dreams I've had in the past while was one where I was on a space station with a friend and we were returning to Earth but got contaminated by an alien virus. I recall vividly the decision we made to self destruct the station and kill ourselves. We set the sequence and there was a loud countdown and siren (like the movie Alien). I remember we cried and talked about our lives as the time counted down. It's wierd when you make a self-aware decision to let yourself die in a dream. You go through what seem like all of the thought processes of actual suicide.

Which leads me to another theory: that you could theoretically do anything you choose to in your dreams. I've found that when I'm forced to kill someone in a dream (usually I'm some special forces op or it's in self-defense against an attacker), I go through the split-second decisions of whether to carry it out, and then the stomach-churning remorse that inevitably follows.

I occasionally will have a dream where I'm visiting my mom.

Every thing's just like it was when she was alive.

It takes about 8 seconds til she says something to p!ss me off.

Then I wake up and feel sad that I had time to visit with my departed mom and I wasted it being p!ssed off and falling into the same pattern as I did when I was a teen ager, of course not realizing in the dream the rarity of seeing her face and hearing her voice after all these years. :(

I forgot to mention one dream that I frequently have that sucks. The dream where I stuff a crap load of money in my dresser and I get all excited that I'll get to use it only to wake up and know that I was just dreaming.

Somebody also mentioned the fact that they get chased. I have those ALL the time EXCEPT when I'm getting chased I can't seem to run all that quick and my legs feel heavy...Horrible feeling. I've gotten shot at it in my dream and man, its such a horrible feeling. Usually I wake up afterwards sweating with my heart racing 24982 beats per minute.

It's funny how Dreaming is just some other life we live.
