Direct lift pro-park 8 plus
I see American Automotive Equipment has the SS-8000 on sale for under $1500 including wheels (great for initial installation), drip trays, etc. I have had one for about a year and am happy with it. As with all lifts, you have to be careful during both installation and operation. Plus, you need to check it our periodically. Make sure things don't get loose or out of adjustment. For home use, they fit the bill.
$1500 is a great deal. I have a "chinese" made lift at home in the garage for over a year now. I am happy with that for home use, but likely not for shop use.
Spasso, you have previously posted pictures of the assembly of your lift. Would you consider reposting them, as I could sure use the information? Thanx
I've got a 2 post lift at the hanger. I was going to use it for storage, keep a car in the air for winter, with bikes underneath. Then I started thinking about an earthquake, and didn't want the plane wearing a Ferrari. So, I don't keep the Ferrari up in the air very high. Art
I've got 2 Revolutions and 4 Quality and 1 Superlift The Revolutions are 220V and they are by far my favorite. Fast easy and the perfect oversize I like. The ramps are easily 12-14" wider than the tires and it creates lots of room to run up on the lift quickly without hassle. The superlift I had spec'd very large and I really don't like the lift much at all but it serves a purpose and my Full size Crew Cab 6" lifted GMC can fit underneath it so having 8ft underneath a lift is quit nice. The Quality lifts are ok they aren't fast enough for my taste but I really don't put these particular lifts to use much so I live with how slow they are. 3 of them are the standard size and I am not a fan of having just enough room to fit the cars on the lift and 1 is oversized so I can easily but my Old Chevy's or pickups on the lift if required. If I recommend anything to a purchaser make it 220v. They work less while giving you the ability to get the top car down much faster. I've not figured out the desire to spend the least amount of money on something that supports most of our expensive cars. I'm a fan of function and use. The small $1k or so lifts just don't offer this in my book.
I have the earlier model (Pro-Park 7) which is a 7,000 lb lift. Wide ramps, 110 volt operation, easy to set up, just some heavy ramps to deal with (I did it myself). I store my 328 on it and use it all the time. No trouble at all for the 4 years I have had it.
I have two Bendpaks...one extra long/tall the other standard. Good customer service through Bendpak. Local installers are iffy though. Make sure you understand how they are shipped to you. Usually shipped to your house but not off of the truck. There you need a forklift or something to take the lift off the truck..and they weigh 1500-1800 lbs. I had my delivered to a local installer, and they transported it to my house and installed it. One company didn't tighten anything to specs. The other did a better job, but I still had fine tuning to make sure all locks engage nearly simultaneously.
I have a Quality 9000 4 post lift. I had it connected to 220v. I would do the same with the lift you buy. I have had no problems with mine.
