I haven't heard of a place on the east end that is reliable, knowledgeable, and credible. Try Berlinetta Motorcars in Huntington 516 423-2020. They may be out of your neighborhood but think about this; Consider having the work done right versus the usual horror stories. There have been countless threads about part time Ferrari mechanics and their delays, expensive problems they caused, poor customer service and long downtimes. If you want to enjoy the car for the summer, try a reliable place like Berlinetta.

I second this recommendation. I've known Doug Perone for years. I also take my f-car there. He is honest and reliable, but not cheap. Doug has been in business for many years and has a loyal following.

When I am out there I am always on the look out for nearby local garages that will treat the car right in case of a problem....the f-car population really increases out there in the summer.

Sorry to piggy-back on this thread, but I need recommendations for GOOD Ferrari mechanics (or independents who know Ferraris very well) much closer to NYC. Any in NYC itself or maybe Queens? Looking for someone to work on small issues as well as a major (like a 30K mile service). (Oh and it's a 308 -- I know, doesn't require someone skilled on an Enzo, but still, I don't want Pep Boys (with all due respect to them) here.)

    Thanks in advance.

What is the deal with Georgica Getty? I have seen a plethora of exotics (everything from a 330 GTC, Boxer, Jaguar XK 140, rare muscle cars, etc.) at this station over the years. He must be doing something right? Information please.

call steve arena of Arena Motors

he is 10 min outside NYC in teterboro NJ

    845-721-5405

He is in the middle of Davids major on his TR, has a 308 major he is doing now, and i am sure can fit you in in the coming weeks.

Realy knows what he is doing, and is priced well.

Third recommendation for Doug. He did the PPI on my car and was very nice and really seemed to know what he was doing. If I hadn't heard such good reviews about Steve at Arena (who is much closer to me), I would probably go out to Doug.

SO far I can reccomend by personal experience, Auto -elite ( I have used them for over 20 years but have not been using them recently though...they get busy in the summer), Nastasi Racing in LIC ( Wow, this is a real Ferrari race shop, the place is very close to the east side (one stop on the E)..., I use George Imported cars of stamford ( Great for you USB/Warburg guys) just the best all around, he does chips and has a dyno on the premises and is great on performance upgrades. WWOC was also good. I also have used imported cars in garwood NJ...mostly a VERY FASTIDIOUS German ( Porsche, Merc) repair, tuner shop, but they treat my Ferraris like it was that new Porsche exotic carrera...real perfectionists.

Hamptons I have used the guy with the Hertz rental shop on rte 27 forgot the name of the repair shop ( fair and OK ..limited F-experience though and slow turnaround) ...buddy has used Nothernland mentioned above..

Shops that I have used but wouldn't repeat ( Classic in Elizabeth, NJ -- long time ago for a Maserti and for a Mondial T) Geogica Getty (happiest day in motoring was when I got my car away from him - on a flatbed all the way to Stamford CT! and it was worth it)
