Check out this web site. According to the site it's not an SS tb (92812-95820). Nor is it a US challenge tb (97869-98906). If it's a TB, then it's a Euro GTB(96655-99697), or GT Competizione (96064-99143). It's not a Michelotto 348. More info might help. http://www.club348.com/technical/Tech/348.html#VINs
It's not a RHD GTC or Mich. just checked my VIN records. It could be a LHD GTC but no info on those. Try jtremlett on Club Scuderia.
Its a Euro car,and now in Canada when I call Ferrari they ask me if its a race car because of the vin.
http://www.qv500.com/ferrari348p5.php http://www.qv500.com/ferrari348p8.php http://www.qv500.com/ferrari348p10.php Based on the s/n it appears to be a '93 MY. If you had the full vin it might tell you the MY and country. Check above, but it does not show up in the above pages. Maybe an old Euro challenge car? There are more than a few old 348 challenge cars around that have been updated to run in various race seires. More info would be helpful. Is this a car for sale? Are you looking to buy? Pictures?
Its my car, I bought it. I just can't find out any exact info on the car. My seats look like 355 ones, it has a black and tan interior, black carpet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice wheels. Maybe do a carfax. Check service records. Maybe a previous owner can give you more info.
Rocco, ever think of putting 355 wheels on yours ? It'll look so much sportier. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought so, but many said they don't fit. I wonder if they came in the car or they replaced kevlar seats etc.
The seat in euro cars didn't meet North American seat belt rules at that time we had those cool(hahaha) tracker belt thingees. Since that is a Euro car maybe the original seats had to be removed when it came into Canada. To get it to pass Canadian/North American regs. those Euro seats were replaced with the 355 seats, all that could be found at the time maybe or they worked better for the seats that are in the car now. You will also notice there are no tracker belts in that car like there would be in a NA spec car. Regards, Vern
hmmm.. might be then just a simple case of the guy liking the 355 seats and found a set and had them replaced. The car appears to be in too good of condition to be a theft recovery where some stole the original ones ie; they would have done more than take the seats.
I like the wheels, and I like the seats, if it' s a theft recovery God bless the thief- great looking car-
The challenge seat mounting brackets are the same for the 348 and 355. I used an old 355 CH mounting bracket for my race seat in my 348. Of course no track belt "thingee" (is that really a word?) with the race seats. So except for the seat belt set up, i would think the mounting points and hardware are the same for the street seats.
Hi Richard, hahaha.. yeah I don't think its a word either, What I was getting at is his car doesn't have the motorized belt system as all the US cars had. To get a Euro car in the US at the time his was produced it either had to air bags or the motorized belt system. Ferrari was exempt from air bags until '95. IIRC correctly the regular seat belt system was allowed in Canada so I would amend my earlier thought on the seat belts being the reason for the seat change plus the fact that he said they were(seats) in the car in Europe. I still think it just boils down to the PO preferring the 355 seats.
Sorry Rocco didn't mean to get the theft recovery thing goin' there, was only implying that it's way to nice a car to have been the reason for the different seats. regards, Vern
It had 2 previous owners in Europe, but the second owner bought it off the original owner with the seats.
