I'm with you for the most part. I do have a K&N filter and a leather shift nob but that is about all.

    Hey Scott,

Luckily, I've found a place that as long as it passes the tailpipe, they are good with that. I've yet to try and get it to pass with the euro/early cams, so wish me luck. Prior to that with the air pump running, I always passed with flying colors.

Doc. Cos - the loss of oil pressure was during right handers. My baffle cured this for me.

    A few things I forgot:

    - replaced chrome speaker grilles with black cloth (matches door panel)
    - Silverstar headlights (not as good as HID or Hella, but much bettter than OEM)
    - fully automatic antenna
    - qucik release steering wheel
    - Poly suspension bushings

I'd like to see it as well. The leather-wrapped shifter in my VW has a nice feel to it.

ebay for under $20. I think it is a JDM or something like that. It bolts inbetween the steering wheel and hub (easily reversible). It also acts as a 1" spacer which is nice. It maintains your horn (many do not), and has no play in it at all. Once installed, I just push the release button, twist the locking ring and the wheel comes off. It helps with the ingress/egress, espcially with the racing seats.

mods on my '85 GTS.... let's see:

    QA1 shocks/springs (300lb I think) with Verrell's adapters
    Superformance quick ratio steering rack
Mustang poly motor mounts modded by Luckydynes
    Superformance "hard rubber" suspension bushings
cat, AC and airpump system delete
    US bumper extensions removed
    front corner lights shaved
    non-stock engine parts colors
    Birdman fuse panel
    sheepskin seatcovers :)

Thats about it. Looks stock but handles and goes just a bit better.

Dr. Tom, glad you snagged that Saratoga top. I saw it on the Ebay was scared to bid as it looked cracked in the mounting spots. Do the cracks effect the top at all? I have a line on one that is in similar shape. But still nervous about its integrity.

I keep my 308 bone stock. That way I avoid criticism. Does the add on parts effect the cars "points" if you go to a show and are judged?

If any of you want a lightweight harness bar that inserts into the stock seat belt locations so you that you can put 4 point harnesses, I have one that I can sell. It was custom fabbed by a race shop and hte workmanship is insanely good. I no longer have a 3x8 so can't use it.

I have the original knob but they're small and I have a large hand. When I bought the car the previous owner had a wooden knob on the car. I took that knob and had it covered in black leather. It feels great in my hand.

:) The two are very different cars for sure. I have to admit the I prefer the 308 for a 2-hour back road or track, pure sensation. My bone-stock 328 is best for long distance touring such as Fogrally or car shows, as there are less than forty 88.5 and 89 328 GTB in the country. They have the improved suspension/handling, best of the 308/328 series. That's why I still keep both: GTS vs. GTB, 308 vs 328, Carb vs Injection, stock vs mod and all the debates....
